I actually got video of my boy running the blinds yesterday....My computer has been giving me issues.  But once I get it behaving itself I will go ahead and get it up on you tube.  He's pretty quick, but guess he could be a little tighter around the blinds.  He only briefly thought about blowing me off yesterday.  LOL

Sue, for my female we had tried other methods including extra helpers on the field and hot blinds, but in the end the long line approach worked best for her and actually increased her drive for running the blinds.

That has been my experience too, Kathy.

Really nice bitch you have there, Bob.  Really nice!

Changer: Can you elaborate a little more?   Are you hanging a tug in each blind?  So then the dog gets it and brings it to you on the recall and you reward with some tugging?  Very interesting and a nice tip!  Thank You

Teri:  Hang in there!  I know how you feel, I had some real setbacks physically that set me back about a year too. The really good news is our dogs don't care, they are just thrilled to be working with us now.

And thanks to everyone for participating in a training thread.

The "retired" dog having some fun yesterday.....

I wish that I could say that his dirtyness in the blind was because he hasn't worked in a while.   LOL    The boy comes out for "fun" these days.

I do not run the blinds all the time the same. I run my blinds as a direction command. My dog runs where I tell him, sometimes even three times around one blind..all about controll work. I have never had a problem with running any blinds, trees or whatever the field has. I mark it, he  runs it.

There's a club in PA that some of their blinds are basically overgrown trees around the original wooden blinds.

Got to run them once too, that was pretty fun.

RezKat  it looked like Ike just wanted to get a Front Row seat when the helper tried to move. LOL  How funny, he really enjoyed himself.

Nice girl Bob, how old is she?  While watching the video's my dogs could hear the dogs barking and all chimmed in!!!!

Thank for the encouragement Sueincc.  The team uses long leads and has the dogs start out going around a blank blind and then to the blind with the helper but I'm not sure if they did something prior to that and I missed it.  I'm interested in hearing more details about the tug in the blinds, my girls LOVE tugs but I may not be able to get it back from them.  Please tell us more details about your method.
