I've had several dogs that went after vacuum cleaners. One vacuum had toothmarks all over it since one bitch would attack it at any opportunity. She had to be outside when I vacuumed up all her shed hair and I had to keep the vacuum locked away from her. I have one now who thinks the shop-vac is a tug toy, but only when it's running. He tries to grab the hose and cleaning attachment away from me. I thought it was cute when he was a puppy. I know how to make him stop, but we both still enjoy it.

My male won't tolerate any yard equipment or the vaccum cleaner. Even tried training with a shock collar it correct it because he abslutly hates the weed wacker, too. Worst part is I can't leave him out to vaccum, he whines and barks the whole time and the neighors call the cops, wish I could put a shock collar on them (on an encredibly cruel setting)

i thought it was her she is 3 and has attacked the mower from 8 week, 3 sets of tires and my boys are no more mom, but she so loves to kill it and I have such a good laugh.Only a GSD owner can find the humor in it, as when she does it I think what would she do if someone came in buzzing Ha No buzzing boys around here!

I've got a couple of mower haters too! Will bite the wheels too. So they are usually kenneled up for it. As it gets annoying to get them off of it.
My female is a bonafied hose killer! We cannot leave any hose unattended. She can chew and put holes in them in a matter of seconds. I even put a piece of PVC around the end of one to protect it. That did work for awhile! She will go after the vacuum too, but that's not as fun anymore!

Mine love water being sprayed out of the hose. The work as a team, Sita goes after the water that's hitting the ground, and Hero jumps at the water about 6 inches past the nozzel. Using the hose to clean off the patio is impossible, but playing with the dogs in the water is great fun.

I use a canister vac with a hose, Kali thinks it is her duty to defend me from the evil hose, will bite it, chase it, grab it & pull it out of my hands, pounce on it....tail wagging the whole time, big doggie grin......sigh......good thing they make replacements! jh

Mine has a bizarre reaction to donkeys. He sees horses, (no problem), mules, (no problem), ponies (no problem), cows (no problem).....When he sees a donkey he freaks out. He makes weird ungodly screaming noises, high pitched, low pitched, he cannot control himself, he will flip himself on leash, and he wants to get them badly. I mean what the hell does the little freakazoid think he can do with a donkey anyways?....whatever it is, I don't want to know.

For 5 years my male stirred far from the hose. Then two summers ago after watching it's psycho sister today with the hose, he decided that it was fun too. Granted he's not as crazy with it, but still fun to play.
Watering while the little miss is out, is next to impossible too. Now that I have a video camera I'll have to video her hose/sprinkler activities. She's a got a good one of what I call sprinkler takedown!

Great story RLHAR!! You should wright books. The pool is a great way to exercise, and cool off in the summer... Right? Well Ruger thinks so too, only no one else is allowed to have as much fun as he does!! Nobody can jump in the pool, or splash, you cant scream and yell..... He will tell you its not good pool etiquette, he will try to stop you from jumping in, and he will bark until your ears fall off if you splash and have a good time. He is Captain save a kid, when it comes to the pool!!! He goes in when the girls go out to swim. I cant change it, I've tried to calm him and say its ok.... He will never believe me, so oh well! His loss!

My girl hates the riding and push mowers. She doesn't trust the vaccuum, tries sneaking up on it but the exhaust makes her avoid it. She really gets excited by the hand held hair dryer. I think it must be the high pitched noise it makes. She will bark at all but is pretty good about backing off when told to. She usually gets in one last bark before settling down. I can't wait until it's warm enough to play with the garden hose. She loves to bite her water when I'm pouring it into her water dish. I think she will be crazy about the water. I think the quirkiest thing I have ever seen her do is to hump her bedding. Especially after she has been scolded for doing something she knows better than to pull. She will go paw the bedding up into a little mound and do the humping motion as if she is saying "Well, I've just been dominated by the boss so I have to dominate something" My husband thought I was nuts when I told him about the behaviour until he witnessed it himself.
