So sorry for the loss of your baby. Doubly sorry you have to deal with not having an accurate picture of prognosis as well.

Surgeons can be such cocky jerks.  IMO, he should have called you during the surgery to let you know what he found and ask if you wanted to proceed with the PRAA repair or not, given the new info.  He messed up big time, and needs to be called out on it.

I'm sorry for your loss and this additional heartache.

I just got back form the vets. . Why is it when you know your doing the right thing you feel so bad about it? Thank you everyone for your kind words. It is really nice to know people care even when you don't know them. I hope i can show the same kindness to someone else that you all have shown to me. Thank you again

When I put my 17 yo kitty down, she was very ill, & truly it was the best thing to do, but I'll never forget that last look she gave me before her eyes lost focus. It will always hurt. But we do the best we can for those we love, & try to be kind to those going through that pain. Peace to you. jh

i'm so sorry for both your pup and for you.  i wish the vet was a better person and had been completely honest and forthcoming with you, but take solice in the fact that you did all you could to improve the quality of your pup's life, and give yourself some time to grieve. we'll light a candle for both of you - best wishes to you and have a kind day - susan
