Super news Auntie Jackie!
When your knee is all better, we'll work on knocking Luv Bug in the head with it so she doesn't lean on you. LOL
MMMmmm Tater Salad. Now I'm hungry! May have to make up a batch myself today to provide energy for a little knee-knocking myself!

And to Auntie Shelley--Not only LuvBug needs some knocking! Beckett, while he is very sweet about protecting my knee when just out schlepping around, once we start with 'training'---he really turns it on...I think he thought I was the helper yesterday! I don't want to discourage his biting, but I kinda need to keep the hands intact....any suggestions? He wants the retrieve object back right away after he outs, he sits like a good boy, but the minute he senses I'm going to throw it again he's on it like it was a sleeve. (nice deep bite, too! LOL! OW!) I don't want to create a bad habit....what to do? My thought was to do it once, then take it away & do something else so he's not all hyped up for the object again....but I thought I'd check with you first.....Suggestions? jh

Handlers' hands, arms, legs, etc. are off the menu. Tell him no the instant he puts his mouth on your skin. Beckett is not so fragile in his drives to be discouraged from the sleeve during the process of learning civilized manners. Puppyhood is long gone. He's too old to be molly-coddled.

The second I say "Ow!" he backs off, & comes sniffing back like he's trying see what happened. He gets so focused on the object he doesn't see anything else, I'm quite sure. How do I make him hold his sit until I throw the object... he should wait for me to send him out, right? What he was doing yesterday was the minute I throw the dowel, stick, dumbell, whatever, he explodes to get it. Should I try fastening him to a post or something immobile, then release him with the command, after I throw the object? jh
