Excellent dog, poor helperwork in my opinion, footwork is completely wrong, he should be able to take the dogs either way and struggles to do so that is the sole reason he was taken down several times. But very nice speed and power from the dogs.

Long day for that helper. I hope the hotel had a hot tub.

To expand on a little of what DSV said, I think the helper is a good helper but I feel some dogs are just hard to read. Most dogs have a side they like to goto, either sleeve side or stick side. When the dog is coming down the field often its hard to get an idea of what side to take the dog untill its to late. Allot of helpers will always catch a certain way but they still have to read the dog and adjust accordingly to avoid jamming. Just my two cents

Prodogz, sorry If it came across a little hasty, I'm sure the helper is a very good helper considering he's doing trials of this calibre, however I do feel he could have set  himself up a little better for 'some' of the catches. It's very important to be very central and your co-ordination has to be spot on, if you watch the likes of Robbie de jong who I feel is a superb helper for the long flight and Jarda Labik they keep the sleeve very central and pivot either way. Just my opinion.

All the best,

Terry  has him in a retirement home with another club member. His website is http://www.vonmathias.com/ . We are in the same club. Terry has a new dog now, and he too is an alligator. We just did our SchH 1's together. I can't remember his new dogs name, but he is sired by a brother to Calimero.

Nice to see so many different breeds taking part. First time I've seen a boxer on the field, and there's a nice looking Bouvier there too.  Are there many bouviers in the sport? They look like pretty darn serious dogs!

Eik von Nordenstamm is a wonderful dog.  He is almost 10 years old  and looks like a 6 or 7 year old dog.   He is still available for stud.  He lives with me (Carol Beasley) and is my house dog.   I own 2 of his sons also,  Esse von Mathias SchH2, AD, BH and Gotti von Mathias (soon to be SchH1)  Both of my dogs out of him are excellent obedience and tracking dogs.  Both of these dogs are really easy to train.   Eik is also a very healthy dog.  I have owned him since he was 7 and he has never had a sick day in his life.  So far he is also producing Excellent and Good OFA hips and all dogs that were xrayed also passed elbows.  My personal dogs from him were also CERF'd and passed  the OFA Cardiac test.  Eik is a real tough dog with lots of heart out on the field,  but at home he is an absolute joy to live with.  He spends his days in the house and his favorite thing to do is swim in the pool.  He is living the retired life he deserves.   If anyone is interested in breeding to him you can contact me,  Carol Beasley,  K9atplay@msn.com,  or Terry Macias, vonmathias@yahoo.com

I was there and this is an excellent video - my dog is on it too ;) - If I'm not mistaken the "Bouvier" in the video is actually a Giant Schnauzer - or if it is a Bouvier I don't remember one being there at that trial.
