Some of the stronger Kirschental herding bloodlines are V Farus vom Kirschental HGH and V Matzo vom Kirschental SchH3 HGH. Kirschental focuses on  a strong motherline, which is an excellent breeding strategy in my opinion.

I imported a puppy out of 2x Herding Sieger V1 Sherry Kirschental SchH3 HGH x V Zeckie Kirschental HGH about 1 1/2yrs ago, and he's not a disappointment to us at all. Currently training for his BH, showed in NASS when he was just 13 mos old (he's a big boy, so he was still immature at that time and not fully come together and not had the experience in the ring others in his group had),  and coming along nice. He's line-bred 2-3 on Farus, 3-4 on Matzo. http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/520269.html

So I recommend Kirschental also. Good reputable people, easy to deal with, very up front.

You might also try Karen Priest's kennel Traumhof.  She owns Sherry Kirschental now, if I recall correctly...and she does WDS (Working Dog Sport, aka Schutzhund) and herding with her dogs. Small kennel  in MA, and she doesn't always have puppies.

Kirschental is the most reliable, long time breeders of integrety that I am familiar with.  I have owned one of their dogs years ago and it was the smartest dog I have ever worked with.  They have always bred for conformation, health, brains and trainability.  Maybe there are others as good, but there track record is hard to beat.  If I were starting over and wanted to put  some money on a safe bet, I would go with them.  You will generally hear nothing but good from those who have done business with them and that in itself is almost impossible with todays discontents.

Yes, the Fullers have an excellent reputation, I've never heard anything negative about them. Just a note: Sherry vom Kirschental wasn't the Herding Sieger - he was the winner of the Herding Class at the Sieger Show. There is a difference. The Bundesleistungshuten is the actual sheepherding championship...........not to say Karl didn't do some herding work with Sherry, but he is essentially a showline dog. For breeding purposes in Germany you can either have a herding title OR a Schutzhund title. The Fullers show in the herding class because it doesn't require the stronger bite work - if you are going to be working sheep you generally don't use a dog that has been SchH trained, the bite would be damaging.......  so I still think that if you want a true HERDING dog you have to go back to Kirschental and tell them, so that they can select a puppy or young adult  that is specifically bred for the job. (But with Ulf here in the States you might not have to go that far...)

You can check out their pedigrees on pedigeedatabase. These lines are rare in the U.S. (even in Germany), but when you find them, they're like the hidden gold of the GSD blood.

www.24kgsd.com    Alta tollhaus kennel breeds the Kirschental lines, and goes to the Fuller kennel often.  She has a litter right now and one coming up soon.
