I sure hope you get this resolved. It sounds like you have some good advice here and are on the right course of action.
Good luck.

First it is unclear even to me exactly how the dog got into her hands... I would really like to know this. I can only assume things and I dont feel comfortable spouting assumptions... I was tipped off she was back at her old place with one of my dogs out of Puck. Lisa has herself told me so many different versions of how she got her that I have indigestion. She also told the police that her sick/dying mother was on the road at 10:30 at night and found the pom she stole and thats how she got it... This ladi is whacked out!!
She doent have ANY paperwork because the original buyer ( I think it was for her in the beginning now) never made a payment after the first one... When I couldnt contact them, certified letters etc... I registerd the dog in my name name and reported the dog stolen. This was in September... so now 5 months later, I hear she has got the dog, I sent my husband to her house with a letter stating I knew she had the dog and I wanted her back... She is registered in my name and tattooed with my kennel information.. period. She then called me and confirmed she has had the dog and I couldnt have her back because she had too much money into her training... Lisa dont train her dogs... this is all a made up in her mind thing... but point blank she was not letting the dog go. Period
She has threatened physical harm... cannot go to her property without trespass.. I did take your advice and sent her a certified letter today demanding she let the dog go... I have spoken to authorities... they DO NOT care that she will move this dog... they dont even care that its a dog... the have told me all DAY that I have to go to court. I am looking at other ways of getting them to listen. I have been on the computer and phone all day... tomorrow I will be up there in PERSON. They are gonna get my dog back jsut to shut me up!!
Sherriff's here... update later...

Cops are in a your-word-against-hers situation, lawyers, like any profession, need to choose work that is financially profitable for them, therefore get the court, i.e. the law, to do it for you. Once the court so orders you can bet the cops will obey and go get the dog, but right now they don't have the authority.
Look at it this way, if the cops jumped in and took the dog from her, that means that any nasty SOB who didn't like you could (and would) call the cops and say so-and-so has my dog, go get it back! And then where would you (or any of us) be?

I understand your point... however (chuckle) the arm of the law and the justice system are only listening to me when I pitch a fit like my two year old...They ARE NOT supporting me. It's not a he said she said situation at all. There is concrete proof this dog belongs to me. I bred her, I tattooed her, I had her microchipped. She was never paid for. There are no questions there... Waiting for a court date that is for next month is just long enough to lose her... That is crazy advice. Given the right information, and having everything check out to be ligitimate I would hope they would jump in and get the dog back.
In general: The county officer came and he ended up being a personal friend... YAY!! he was sincere and gave a lot of advice on how to go about this over some heads to get her back... tomorrow is going to be a busy day.
