love tile,, easy to keep clean and never tears or gets worn like linoleum.
I left carpet in bedrooms and close doors when any dog is loose in house..only thing about tile is:
you drop a glass , or vase, or anything breakable and it is gone , into a million pieces.
YR other than that I carry peroxide and alcohol , with me at all times,,,even use it in the truck..along with Odo ban from Sams Club..

The formula of peroxide contains the oxide that releases stain materials loosens them and keeps the stain out of carpets....use on my clothes when I drop spaghetti sauce on my shirt I just put on clean....yikes makes me mad......also the isopropol alcohol is what is put with carpet cleaning solution ./along with peroxide and that is what is in the pet carpet solution they charge you 16.00 for a gallon , consists of....a bottle of peroxide is only still 48 cents and alcohol is 60 cents...use the math scale for what you need to.........
My carpet installer /owner told me about this solution many years ago...gave me a free bottle and isopropol alcohol takes the smell of the poop out.................I then later go back over with Odo Ban ,,,bought at Sams club in gallon and dilutes to make 32 gallons , cleans and deodorizes and I spray only a tiny bit and vaccum three or four times with a good vaccuum... I have a rainbow so the residues of dust , etc, dont go flying thru the air and I use a dash of odo ban in my water, or I use an oil in the water for fresh smells...
I would never run a kennel on concrete without Odo Ban. I also use white vinegar for a lot of cleaning in bottoms of wire kennels or the air crates...White vinegar is used on a q tip or a soft baby wipe for cleaning dog ears also.
Yr ( I do use a very mild chlorox solution on my tile floors...but no dogs are on that tile...for many hours as I mop at 2 am in the morning..)

Muttlover - I have hardwoods on the entire main level of my house. I love them. I also have 2 GSD's in the house as well and yes the floors do get scratched. No avoiding it. I have several large rugs throughout which helps. Funny thing is - if one has an accident which is few and far between you would thin they'd pick the hardwood but nooooooo they go to an area rug. Grrrr.
