People I have talked to preceive females as the sweeter, easier to handle. They just do not believe me when I explain what "bitch" truely can mean. I currently have three females, all want to be alpha, all are kept seperated. My male doesn't care as long as he gets his play time with each one. It's also two of the females I am working. One is truely a tough bitch on the field. And yes all three are as sweet as can be if they are not around the other females.

I just had to laugh, my male just made the announcement that the mail has arrived. Rather early for a Saturday......

I also live in Oz, earlier this year I had a litter of 7 males, no females and they were spoken before they were 8 weeks old and I continued getting calls for male puppies for weeks after they were gone.
My last litter 3 males & 4 females, boys were all sold before the females.

Great to see another Aussie on the database.

OK, like Female dogs don't have to life theyre leg at every other step,,,,,,,,,,,,,

I have both female and male shepherds - and I cannot say which one is easier.......the females watch the door better, the males' size and bark are more intimadating......

Its all personal preference.l

Too funny...I was just saying that to one of my puppy owners the other day, he was worried because his 18 month old female was dominating the 10 month old male pup he got from me.......females rule the world......a smart man just says, "Yes ma'am."-then does what he wants to anyway. Works at my house! For the dogs & the peoples! jh

Thats it, let the females think they are in charge, it makes life so much easier for us poor males, A wise dog will do the same but dowhat he wants too in a subtle kind of way
Going onto The Dog part of this thread, Goran is jealous of Pup Heidi, a little better now He likes his Fuss first which is important and i always go past the Pups pen to fuss Goran then back to the Pup. But in the end the female would be the boss of him, but of course i will not allow it

just wait until she comes in season. The boys become completely whipped then! LOL

Ike tries to act all tough with Lexie, but untimately he's a big pushover. Lexie will be all sweet, and away she'll come with the toy and he's stuck there looking stupid. She won't try it for food though. That's also him too, don't tell the mailman that ultimately he's a big pushover! LOL

I've always had males,loved them, love the large square heads, muscular body, larger size, and I like the more aggressiveness attitude.

This is my first female, first off, I am having a hard time getting used to her little size, I really hope she reaches at least 24 inches, because now, she's not much bigger than a sheltie. She is very soft and affectionate, and has a wonderful goofy personality, but I prefer a male, and my next GSD will be male again. What can I say, I like the boys!

I personally prefer females over and above males I find their intense working abilities over the top. the only disfunction owning a female is due to the fact they come into season.. The best cure for that is being spayed..I had a few good males in the past mind you my girls rule over any male all day long! Not being prud or anything this is just my preferance for now. or until I find a male that can show me better.. LOL just a joke!
