So- interesting clip I thought. Although no where did it refer to the dog as a wolf hybrid.. it specifically said dog (coming at Cesar "like a wolf". Maybe in the full episode it describes the dog that way - but who cares. What is with this PDB that picks the shit out of the most innocent of statements. Geez. Get a Life!
Meanwhile, having been around wolves and wolf hybrids, one hybrid in particular looked totally doggie. He looked like a husky mix, and the average person on the street wouldn't have any idea that he was HALF wolf (and he was very sweet). He was owned by a lady who incidentally owned a full wolf also. Luckily, the wolf was taken away from her (not legal in California) and sent to the Wildlife Waystation. This was years ago.
As far as the training? The short clip that was presented just confirmed again Cesar's methodical & CALM manner in dealing with an unexpected event. In my unprofessional opinion, when he bumped the dog with his foot, it was to get the dog's attention off the other dog. The reaction was obviously not expected but dealt with pretty quick. I'm thinking that most of you would agree that there is more than ONE way to train/correct unwanted behaviors - but since I'm not a "trainer", maybe it's just me.
It's interesting to read the reactions and the dissing when someone presents a clip such as this one. OMG. Who cares that this dog is tougher than that dog. Jesus. And your point is....... ?
And also, in my opinion - the general public shouldn't own a wolf hybrid. For obvious reasons. A not so obvious reason is the diet they require. It's bad enough that we feed our dogs kibble - but to feed a wolf and/or a wolf mix a domestic dog diet is a huge injustice to those majestic animals.

My "Moron" comment was sarcastic to the first "moron" comment. But me calling Ceasar an idiot is what I think of him in terms of a dog trainer. He is good with the people, not the dogs.

If a client comes to you with aggression problems, and a trainer assumes it is rooted in dominance (for him everything is rooted in dominance even if the dog is pissing itself) than wouldn't you think kicking a dominant dog would more than likely elicit this type of behaviour? If so, it should not have been an unexpected event. This dog's issue is aggression which can stem from a number of different genetic, environmental, training, or behaviour bases. It is not always rooted in, esp in your average pet dog, dominance.

Yes, there is. This is my point with the Ding a Ling. He has only one mindset and one way----Dominance and "establishing rank order".
OMG. Who cares that this dog is tougher than that dog. Jesus. And your point is....... ?
My point was not about what dog was tougher. My point being to give an example of a dominant dog VS an insecure or big brat of a dog. I am pointing out IMHO that Cesar's interpretation of dominance and his training technuiques are flawed and most of the time unjust, thereby creating situations that are unfair to the dog.
Many of us are here to discuss training and canine behaviour, not dog food.

Looks like a wolf hybrid to me, who knows the % wolf - doesn't look at all like a malamute. Looks like many wolf hybrids I've known and seen. Though the hybrids I've known would have shown submission and skittiness rather than "attack" or "defense" mode as this one showed. Alpha? Didn't see enough in that clip to convince me of that. Just looked like a hybrid that was strong enough at least to attempt to defend itself from, as already said, from a known correction method. There's really not much you can do other than string up the dog and keep it away from you, cut off the air in doing so - when it's coming up the leash at you. I'm not a "Cesar fan" but thought he did a good job remaining calm, collected and neutral during the incident.

I dont have a problem with Ceaser.....using a firm hand is not a bad thing in many cases.
But.....If Joe public watched me hanging a dog like that I would probably have PETA or some other organization pounding on my door.
I guess the difference is that Oprah says Ceaser is good....so it must be ok.
Why not....Oprah says socialism is good so you elect a socialist.

It was tightningv around the neck as he lifted his arms up
For me that is no big deal and nothing to be proud of,
Had he been on an ordinary collar he would have had nore than a few scratches on his arm
No, i for one was not impressed
