snajper69 - I love them too - I've got both long and short coated GSDs and strangely enough the long coat is less work grooming wise.  Mind you she's moulted so badly at the mo that she has no undercoat!

I find long coats to be better dogs "this is just my opinion" they are more into pleasing you, work harder for you, and they shed less lol that is the most important factor plus they look like big bears :)

I have always loved LH for many years.  Finally I found a LH working line pup and she is growing up to be quite beautiful!  I see no reason why the long stock coats should not be allowed.  After all they do have an undercoat.  The true LH's, should not be.

i was under the impression they were going to allow the long stock coat (that which has an undercoat) back in, and not the long coat .   i guess we will all know once they pass the ruling.

What about the rumor that the long STOCK would be a seperate variety?  If I recall, Chris mentioned this was part of the discussion.  Personally, I have no issue with the long stock, either coming back in or as a seperate variety.

Liebe,

I have seen a few of the coats without undercoats.  Their hair parts down the middle of the back, just like a collie's, and they look more like collies (with upright ears) than gsds.  If you have seen a Briard, the coat falls in a similar manner, without an undercoat.

I just love the long coats/super plush with undercoat but not like a collie.
