Hello Veronica,

Thank you for the link info. I see Brun is 3-5 on Gildo since Gary Korbelback is a Gildo son, so your breding will be 4,6-4 on Gildo....interesting.  One of the bitches I bred to my Blacky grandson carries Dasty v. Greis in her 3rd generation, so that will be another common thread in your pedigree to the one I did last year. Maybe I'll take some photos to send you... Jackie Athon

Hi veronika

I did reply to the euro list since noone has answered you ,yet . I am sure they will now follow :)

here is what I posted

Veronica , I see no big red flags  with this combination. I think you will get biddable outgoing dogs    I don't know either male nor female  but I also tend leaning towards a bit of un sureness in the progeny  especially when young reason  being your female comes through Orry Haus Antverpa  and also Nikor Akbar  these dogs where very successful but nerve must be watched  !!  Don't ask me to analyse this like Bruce can < smile > Your male's pedigree is more balanced (IMO ) I really like it !! and a handsome guy too :)  I saw he had been used  as a stud by his breeder  he could give you the best advice  on what this male's  plus and minuses are in the whelpingbox.  much better then I can. Now to Blacky/Berry  Blacky being the more successful brother  however could have been a little stronger in the bitework the dog produced biddable dogs  ( obedience drive ) it was also well into the turn where judges wanted to see much more happy working dogs in obedience  Blacky produced this and breeders used him to get a bit more biddability in their line , it has been  said that his brother Berry produced better but was not as well campaigned . That's all I know  perhaps someone else can give you more information.   I don't think you will have a disaster breeding these dogs together  :)) if this was your concern :))   Pia

Interesting how this linebreeding on *Gildo* produces biddability. Is it the linebreeding on Berry/Blacky's mom causing this?

said that his brother Berry produced better but was not as well campaigned .

Pia isn't that kinda like with Troll and Timmy Nachbarschft. Troll was well campaigned but Timmy was a better producer?

for those who haven't already seen it, here's a link to the banholz site.  the blacky video here is wonderful.  i have watched it many times and still continue to enjoy it.  wouldn't we all love to acheive this kind of result!

my eddy has blacky thru his dam and belschik; boy and deika thru his sire.

Thanks Pia, I am grateful for the information.  I will email the breeders about who Brun produced best with.  We have corresponded some already :-)  It is great to know there are no big red flags on the breeding.  Veronica

Gildo is known to produce stuborn dogs :) this is not a concern when looking at veronika's litter  being line bred on Berry neuen Lande  and you post a good question . I do not have first hand knowledge on the dam of the B litter neuen Lande perhaps she was a very biddable dog  and then  choosing Gildo would be a very good choice . I don't know   the one that knows would be the breeder of neuen Lande :))

I have done  2 breedings  -Gildo line breeding with my V and Y litter vom Rheinland .. sire  is a grand son of Blacky mother is a Fero granddaughter on sire side and  goes back to Uran Wildsteigerland on her dam side :)) with very satisfiing results IMO :)

oh yeah pjp  Blacky  did a outstanding job !! and it is always great to see his performance again !! thanx for posting it !

Yes Mark  this was also said about the brothers Timmy /Troll of the bosen Nachbarschaft kennel.

Breeding is never fool proof  this is what makes it so interesting :)  I still see grand and great grand kids out of  one of my foundation female Eva Haus Bachfeld  with her eye brow expression  in our  household they called  Eva eyes :)  Eva also when given the down command would do so quick and would tap the ground fast  like  1 tap each paw  :)) with her front paws LOL   my Eva granddaughter does the same  LOL  funny what is being geneticly passed on :))

I actually have a theory on this but I wanted to see what other people think...the father of the mother of Blacky and Berry neun Lande is linebred on Bernd Lierberg. Also it seems that Umsa, and not Gildo himself, brought on the stubborness. Not that it's a bad thing, considering the traits that come out of these dogs. :)

What I am interested in knowing is if Blacky/Berry produced dogs to what Gildo and some of his other sons were known to produce? Particularly because looking at Blacky's performance, you wouldn't know Gildo was his Dad (best and worst dogs in obedience lol), so if he is expressing his mother's phenotype, did he pass down her genes as well? I've noticed that the traits Gildo is known for is more consistently passed down through the motherline.

Have a daughter of     Iska vom Kapbusch  which is out of  Bandit  , a  Berry  son. Iska is one of a very extraordinary female. Larry and Dave Kroyer who both worked with her and Larry titled her can attest to her reputation.. She is now owned by another breeder and is one tough female with a brain.

http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/127530.html

Myah is working with  Dave Kroyer because she is very hard headed and the Galveston Storm  Ike took  her home away. , as Galveston is a wreck..Jeri is working   on titling her next  summer., hopefuly. Her sire is  Lago vom Ortskern.

She is one of the most intense, focus girls Ive ever seen. She worked last summer with a rescue team and went thru the instructional of a derailed rr train and put Jeri thru the mill. Myah was at the end of the wreckage long before Jeri was and went back in to find Jeri...  crawling on your stomach thru spaces only meant for a teenager are quit a chore for 45yr.old  plus women who are not the size of a teenager..Myah was a delite to work with but always looked back to see why Jeri was in the rear., when she was well finished and waiting with the director on the other end...was fun but very hard work.

The "BRAT" got sprayed by a skunk she cornered last week .
