I guess I should clarify, I,ve been thanked time and time again in person or by email for donations to events just not a letter or such I guess it never occoured to me to expect it and I will continue to support the dog sports in this way... I sponsored a trophy at this years regionals in Kentucky and although i can,t remember her name as i write this the wonderful lady at the grounds thanked me many times in person... I have fun at events and get the chance to meet wonderful people at these events so I never think about it or care if it happens... I even got to moon Wallace Payne at this years regionals a experience i,m sure he will never forget...hahhahhhahhh.

Jeff I sent you a PM, but disregard. I just need to know is there somewhere we can we fax credit card info or is sending a check the only option? Personally I think this is totally cool so thanks for starting the thread.

Sean is working on a pay pal set up but at present we still have some bugs to work out with it. So at present you will need to mail in a check..
But yes you can make a general trophy donation...

Just to make my position clear.....in my opinion, and in the opinion of others who have voiced this same concern to me in the past and just this week when this thread surfaced, this is not about "getting something" in return for a donation. A simple thank you, in any way, would have been sufficient. As I said, I am not the only one who has not received ANY thank you for two years in a row.
In fact, some others have indicated that they received "curt" emails asking where the money was when the commitment was made. In my opinion, and in my experience with many organizations over my long life run by and built by volunteers, it is exactly about making people feel that their contribution, however small or large, was indeed appreciated. And some of the costs of the trophies were not chump change.
If my concern passes over someone's head, then so be it. Jeff, as for you personally, of course, this is not directed at you nor at AWDF since I have not donated to your organization. It is a specific complaint and it was made in the spirit of hoping your organization and committees will not make the same mistakes. Based on what you wrote, it certainly appears you are cognizant of how important manners and showing simply common courtesy really are.

Sean O'kane and myself are both working to improve the process. I know it will be better this year. Trophies can be a hard thing to do effectively. It can be a fundraiser for the parent or host club but it also can work as a drain on finances if you do not generate enough interest. You want to give really nice trophies BUT if you go too nice and don't get enough sponsors you then are in a really bad spot. The money for the AWDF trophies goes to the parent organazation. The AWDF really does not have a large budget in the grand scheme of things. But we are activley working to inprove the United States standing in the world working community, fighting BSL her at home, developing new working titles. We really have a lot of things going on. (this stuff is more my brothers forte and I am sure that he could give better insight than I.
John Whiitanen, Sean and Myself are working hard on improving this process James Honda will be providing a quality venue so I am confident this will be a quality event this year as well in the future.
I Look Foreward to seeing everyone there,
Sharyn hope this helps.

Jeff,
It sounds like you guys are working hard to make a difference, and yes, I certainly appreciate that, as will others.
If business were not so bad, I would happily sponsor a trophy, but it will have to wait until the ship rights itself.
Best wishes for success.

There are a few of us that do this kind of donation because it,s the thing to do it,s the orgiization we work in and represent so we don,t expect any more then a well run competition and a fine finish this is thanks enough... as the A.W.D.F. and USA have both shown us they can be.
