I've never had one that didn't dig at least a bit. Heck, I had one pull landscape timbers out of the ground and re-arrange my yard while I was recovering from knee surgery and couldn't exercise her. The best way to stop digging is to exercise the dog until it is tired. Then wait a couple hours and exercise again. Otherwise you just live with it. At least we don't have obsessive Border Collies who actually will try to dig to China and almost get there.
