Any suggestions for oil for a dog who absolutely hates salmon oil? I've never had one refuse salmon oil before.

Are you sure the oil you have isn't rancid?  Anyway, you can always get in the gel caps.  Google salmon oil in gel caps, a bunch of places will pop up for you.

Thanks for the advice everyone.   I will change the cod liver oil to salmon oil.

"I no longer go out of my way to feed fruits/veg, it just doesn't seem necessary to me."

Yeah, I don't think it is necessary at all, but my garden has a few fruit trees and so I just give them some of the fruit as it is there anyway.                                                                                                                                                                                                    And I kind of follow the 'prey model' so I like to include fruit and vegetables to mimmick the animals stomach contents.

Oh and also, does anybody give eggs? Thinking of adding it to their diet.

I give egs :) and I don't even feed raw :) good protein content.

Oh ok, is there a limit to how may eggs I can give? And do you just give it raw or cook it?

I give eggs once or twice a week, break it up, shell & all (raw).   Interestingly enough, it appears wolves shake out the undigested contents of the stomach of large prey, rather than eat it.  At least that's what I have been told - I have no first had knowledge!

Raw with shell and everything, shell I belive is a good source of calcium.

I bite into a fish oil capsule every now and then to taste it . It should be fishy but not rancid.

I think if you put it in the freezer, it will never become rancid, not in six months. I don't bother to taste it every now and then if it has been in the freezer all the time.

Fish oil from small fish likely come from the whole fish, including the liver, I stand to correct. The labor to remove the liver would be to much, I tend to think.

I get it by the gallon and keep it in the fridge.  I've never had it go bad, but it sure would be "handier" to keep it in my dog's freezer instead of our family fridge.  So, it won't freeze or get weird or anything?
