Silbersee

Hi Triodegirl,

Bella is not thin, on the contrary. I learned over the years to evaluate a dog's and/or puppy's frame by looking at the width of the top of the back. And Bella has plenty of width there. It is very imparative to keep big-boned puppies lean. In nature, animals at that age would be even more lean. As long as the nutrition intake is guaranteed, there is no worry about a growing youngster to be on a thin side. Pediatricians say the same thing about children, by the way.

If she does not turn out to be a coat, you can certainly have your money back, provided she comes back to me! I still think that she had the best structure of the litter, but Joe is adamant about not keeping longcoats. Even though they will be brought back, starting next year. I have to see at home on my computer if I have some more photos of Bella and her sisters (no brothers), but she was the only fuzzball. It would really be surprising if she is not a coat. But who knows? Workinglines might have different growth patterns in coat than the showlines. Her maternal halfbrother Onyx (by Paska vom Salztalblick) is now one year old and I just saw him last weekend in Germany. He too still has a bit of fuzz around his ears. As a  little puppy, he had completely short hair, now he is plushy (you can see that very well on his page on my website). The two older halfbrothers (by Karn vom Fegelhof) Hutch and Hudson have a shorter stockcoat.

If you go and check out Chuckie's page on my website, you will see that she has the same head (and nose) like her mother. Chuckie seems to stamp her offspring. She is now back in Germany in her old environment for a visit and will be back home later this year or early next year.

She is a good weight. Don't let her get any fatter.

There is no mistaking those Chuckie babies for anyone elses.  She really stamps them, not just the head and nose, but the coat type & bone structure too. She is one prepotent bitch.  I would love to see video of her older off spring in training.  I agree too that the puppy is not too thin at all.

Sometimes I am so dumb.  I had to look no further than this years BSP for video of Chuckies offspring.  Here is her  son Hutch v d Kalten Hardt   http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/521073.html  doing part (part C):

Am I correct, he is just over 3 years old?

Hey Sue,

yes, that is Chuckie's son Hutch. And brother Hudson qualified too. They just turned three years old in June. Hutch's owner Dennis is going to die seeing this video. He was so nervous and Hutch really messed up the back transport with his forging. I thought it was 3 to 4 paces, but it looks more right before the attack. The judge almost called it off for being out of control. This unfortunate thing cost him his Universal Sieger title. We will all motivate  Dennis to try again next year. And we had such a nice sign for the stadium in Aachen at the Sieger Show to cheer on Dennis and Hutch(en).

Brother Hudson had a tough time on the track and barely passed. His overall score was 260.

Chuckie is now back in Germany for a while in her old environment and will be coming home late this year or early next year. I told her to enjoy herself since this is going to be the last visit for her. If she stays long enough she might even get to participate in a DVG match.

Except for the back transport, I was very impressed with the performance of this VERY young dog.  I  look forward to seeing him work at future events, so I hope he is motivated to try for next year. - and there's that Chuckie head and nose!!!
