OGBS,
Get off your defensive stool!! I simply mentioned as a point of reference, should anyone want to check with local schutzhund clbus where the breeder was located. What's with the defensiveness about that? I certainly did not suggest anything but location. Your response, though.... hmmm
Oddly enough, you DO find some non-European kennel names appearing over and over again in trial results, if you bother to read them. You also notice that some rather large breeders seldom have any of their products appearing in those results. Yes, that does have meaning to some of us who actually train. It would, of course, no matter to those who don't.

OGBS,
I would be very interested in reading about this research "Hip and elbow dysplaysia has been proven to be about only 20% genetic". If you would be so kind as to share where this can be found it would be very appreciated.
Thanks !

ok relax people, leaving personal bias out of this let's talk dogs...
-OGBS
I do not own the dogs from her kennel if you actually read my post it said the dogs are part of the training group I'm attached to. The man who bought the dogs from VDH is very careful with his dogs and only feeds them top of the line food, I believe Taste of the Wild but I'm not entirely sure on that point. I do not know what the lineage of the two dogs are ( i have a hard enough time keeping track of my dogs) but I do know that they came from unrelated lines. The male is a "B" litter dog from about 2 years ago and the female (replacement for B dog) is an "A" litter dog from this year probably 8 months ago. I too do understand that Hip and elbow dysplastia is not all breeding (Im young not ignorant) I just said seeing what has come out of her kennel down here I wouldnt chance it.
To the rest of the board yes VDH is now located in Montana. The two dogs we have down here right now are both out of her Czech lines if this helps...

ok, just to say,
the person who stated an issue with hips and elbows from VDH is not alone. the breeder I got my girl from has had 4 dogs from this kennel, 2 have had to be replaced due to severe bad elbows and bad HD. but she also has 2 dogs, the replacements who are fine joint wise.
it happens to the best kennels.

You do not see many Czech Dogs in Belgium, but that is not to say that they are not okay
and as regards bad Hips etc in Dogs purchased, i guess i am lucky both of mine are A Normal, and from two different Breeders

I would not purchase a pup or anything from that kennel. They missed me around for over a year and when I picked a pup I wanted they sold it out from under me said it wasn't what I needed.
Make your own mind up but I just don't think they are right.
Thanks,
Lawman
