Ditto, Shelley.

A BH is NOT considered a title. Period. That fact however should not keep someone from finding the dog a good home, assuming there are not issues. Mixing information, no matter how much all want to help the dog be placed does not do any good for people trying to learn about what is and is not in the dog world.

Reading the ad makes it clear the dog is not good with other dogs and that may be why she is now in a rescue program. How a dog passes a BH, a real BH, when it does not get along with other dogs is then called into question.  Dogs need not like other dogs, but they must be under control and obedient. One hopes this dog had decent training. The dog would need to be placed in a one dog home.

A few years ago, right after I bought Blitz, our local GSD rescue was trying to help an owner find a home for a beautiful female with a UDT. She hated other female dogs and had injured the owner's female Dobe in several fights.

I honestly don't see where it makes any difference if she has a title or if it's a "real title" or not; it's a matter of semantics in the big picture. The dog needs a home which is K-9 mom's intent. The Dog Trainer asks - where is the breeder. Great question.

I agree Hodie and if the individual cant find that one on one home.It would be better to euthanize.

She is so pretty, I hope she finds a forever home. I am with you Blitzen and Shelly...

The dog may have been imported, and therefore, no breeder around. Or, it could be like most dogs we see in rescue.....a breeder around, but they have a "full kennel" and can't accept the dog. Or, perhaps it WAS the breeder who dumped the dog? No, Blitzen is correct, it does not matter if the dog is titled or not. But it does matter whether one calls something that is NOT a title, a title. That only serves to confuse people trying to learn about titles....that was my point.

Ok is this better?

Hodie - As the bio states, she is currently living with other dogs but she would prefer to be an only dog. That suggests to me she is not overly aggressive and most certanly could have passed a BH since as every stated earlier it is so simple to pass. I simply posted this dog here for people to mention to friends who may be looking to dabble with some training as she has already been started.

Sorry for the confusion................................

Tina, do you know if the VA rescue links to the Mid Atlantic Rescue? They have a really nice website and place a lot of GSD's in good homes. Thanks for putting her information here. I'm sure she will find the right home in time with or without a legitmate title. Most pet owners don't have a clue or care what a title is anyway. Hell, until yesterday I thought a BH was a title myself . So shoot me.............

Ahhhhh.... Smash-a-roonies... And all this time I thought the BH was a title, right along with the AD, FH, and all that other stuff they've come up with now that I have no use for personally but some of which I still have to accomplish if I want to prove my dogs are breed-worthy.

If she has the BH, and papers, she has a tattoo. If someone can list the tattoo, chances are we can locate the breeder. Even if not, I'm thinking between us all on this board, we can find this girl a nice home. Now quit fussing about whether a BH is a title or not and help this girl find herself a good place to live out her years, eh? I've already contacted two people. No luck yet, as they live too far from VA and the rescue wants to inspect the prospective home, but surely we can keep this girl from going to the bridge if we try.
