RAVENHAWK

by RAVENHAWK on 02 September 2008 - 17:09

The French, the English, the Spaniards have now agreed with us to retire from all the country

which you and we hold between Canada and Mexico........Be assured you shall find advantage in this change of your friends.........

My children, we are strong, we are numerous as the stars in the heavens, and we are all gunmen.

Yet we live in peace with all nations; and all nations esteem and honor us because we are peaceableand just.

Then let my red children then be peaceable and just.

President Thomas Jefferson, on January 4, 1806. addressed"My friends and children, Chiefs of the

Osages,Missouris,Kanzas, Ottos,Panis,Ayowas, and Sioux" visiting Washington, D.C.

Ravenhawk,

Interesting perspective.....I must take you to task on a couple points, though. You are against affirmative action? And Universal healthcare? Who will pay for it? The Gov't if we really believe in justice! Affirmative action has ALWAYS been around for whites in the USA....it only seems to be a problem when it is "expanded" to include people of color! But there's no racism in the US....LOL! Get real. Whites have always benefitted from UNEARNED racial privelege in America....this has not changed, and I am always amazed that we can't seem to see this, but the moment a person of color gets ANYTHING substantial (in the way of Gov't contracts, education, employment) we act as though they have somehow stolen it from white folks(who,of course are inherently deserving of EVERYTHING and should'nt be expected to share!).

If one is supposedly for justice, then be for justice for all,not just some! You are on the right track, but you still have work to do. We all do!!  For an interesting, and historically accurate perspective, might I suggest you check out Tim Wise?

His website is timwise.org.......I only wish that there were more of "us" like him!

Regards

JustLurkin...I only 'used' those bigoted terms,  as that was what was sold to the Military, ...

Of course you did.

Of course you did.

It's so obvious from all those "oh, so credible" sources that you use to constantly propagate your hateful agenda.  It's so obvious from all the name-calling that you do when anyone disagrees with your views.

With all due respect,

"the sheep" as you so recently called me.

I used the term ' Kraut'.  Im part  Irish, Italian & German.   I dont refer to myself as a  'Kraut' or any other demeaning epithet,  for that matter.

I refer to people as people and criminals as Criminals.

I see the Zionists & the Military Industrial Complex as the agitators of war.

I want all peoples..Jews, Christians & Muslims to come together to demand justice. Not to sit idly by. Silence is acceptance.

You call that Hate, because you hate the truth.  And what I stand for is justice, not hate.

Yes I think Sadamm needed to be extinguished, yet is Pres. Bush  finishing something his father before him started. ----quoted from ravenhawk's intital post on this thread.

Listen Up DumbSh*t,

I went easy on you last time.

Im of German heritage.  No one I know, refers to themselves using damning & derogatory epithets ie "Kraut".  My family is as diverse as anyones here...Catholic, Protestant, Jew, Atheist, Lebanese Middle Eastern, Sicilian, Irish, German

You missed my point because youre brain dead. You have a rectal/cranial inversion. And you refuse to THINK.

As Henry Ford said...'thinking is the hardest work and thats why so few engage in it"

From here on out, Ill post photos of Jews calling out Israel, for what it is-a Terrorist Apartheid State.  And idiots can call these Jews 'anti semitic.'   I call them honest & Anti Criminal.

dshlerner,

Thanks for the info. Will gladly check out Tim Wise.As for affirmative action what I am against is for example two folks taking the civil service exam...

the white male scores a 93% and the hispanic or whomever,non-white, scores a 78% I believe the person with the highest score earned the position.I have a police officer friend this happened to years ago.He lost the job even though he scored a 97.

With regard to universal health care, you are absolutely correct and I stand corrected on my previous belief.I sincerely appreciate you're pointing this out.

Thank you.

Hi Ravenhawk,

Thank you for a civil response. It is a nice change! I can appreciate your point regarding differences in test scores, but there are a couple points that need to be mentioned. First, there is a myth of meritocracy in the US,whereby test scores or other indicators of "merit" rule the day. The reality, however,is that affirmative action was never meant to elevate less qualified minorities into positions that were better filled by caucasions. In fact, white women have been the biggest beneficiaries of AA and other inclusion policies, primarily because they have had access to higher education for a longer period of time than people of color in the US. Because of this, they were (and are) able to use AA and other inclusionary policies in conjunction with college/advanced degrees(for example) to maximize their potential. With that being said, there is still VERY MUCH a "glass ceiling" in place in the professional sector for women of all races in the US.

Also, there often lies the ASSUMPTION that minorities are "automatically" less qualified on the basis of lower test scores/grades,VERY OFTEN unfounded! Frankly, civil service exam scores are NOT a reliable indicator of actual job performance abilities. I,and many others, have witnessed this firsthand, and many studies confirm it. Moreover,it has long been known that most sought after jobs are not advertised, but rather filled via networking. And the "old boy network" is stil firmly in place in America! Just as a sidebar, I find it interesting that many whites are apparently blind to the fact that in EVERY industry, political, educational, government arena, whites are grossly OVERREPRESENTED!

One can only conclude that affirmative action for whites is okay(been around since the beginning of US history),it's only a problem when ANYONE non-white gets anything substantive,in terms of Gov't contracts,a decent job,etc....

Why is it that people can't seem to see what is right in front of their eyes? It has been said that asking a white person what "white privilege" is,is liking asking a bird what air is? Or a fish, what water is......when we are surrounded by it (in a relative sense) our entire lives,we become desensitized to it. Do you really believe that there is a "level" playing field in ANY aspect of American life? And that statement/question is not meant meanly,by the way.
