Silbersee

July,

I am sorry. If I would have known that she is your dog I would not have said anything. It is not my cup of tea to pick other people's dogs apart, especially not without asking. My apologies. And you are right. We all have our preferences.

I know that photos can be deceiving. From this angle, she or better, her hind looks very unbalanced to me. But my compliments to the coat job: I would have never guessed the longcoat. More like the "foo foo" shampoo job, that some people think is the thing to do. And I have spoken with so many SV judges when translating in the show ring, so I know what they think about these hair-dos.

But you know what: Since the SV is recognizing longstockcoats again starting next year, I am pretty sure that the AKC (and the CKC) will follow suit within a few months. So, you can start showing her in a year or so.

Regards, Chris

Don't apologize please..You have the right to your opinions...i'm trying load a picture of her head with ears straight up but that dammed thing doesn't want to load it!! I think the format is too big..anyway i'm trying LOL

We all have our ideas on what should or shouldn't be and what is important for us in a GSD.  Depend on what we do with our dogs...

What strikes me thought is you are telling hat my bitch has not enough stop but (and please don't take ofense cause this is just a picture!!) the dog in your avatar actually looks like a Belgian puppy..Is that a GSD??

Just asking..

The only way you could get any of my dogs' hocks that close to the ground would be to break the opposing leg.

I don't recommend it then!!! OUCH..

She does it naturally..when she stops she stacks all by herself..And I know some are going to argue but in my opinions..it means she has very good angles.  She never looks unconfortable.

She's got one real faulty thing to me..her coat!!

A Belgian? You are just trying to pull my leg, aren't you?

That dog in my avatar is my Pia (Olympia). The photo was taken when she was about 8 months old, so still in the growing stage. I think that she has a perfect feminine face. Well, she is a black dog and photos of blacks in the sunshine are always deceiving, due to the light reflections on the coat. Here is a link to more photos of her, all pretty much taken at the same day: www.vomsilbersee.com/olympia.html Do you still think she looks like a Belgian? What is rare about her (and her siblings) is that she has a beautiful plush coat. Usually, the black workingline dogs have a much shorter tighter coat. She certainly does not have perfect conformation, but she does have a nice stop. Or does anybody else think she looks like a Belgian Sheepdog, lol?

 you are right Susan,

The reason is simple...proper angulation give more propulsions..good follow throught and more ground covering..

Did you look at his croup too?? Very curvy and sloppind down..90 degrees angles in the shoulders..a little less in the rear, a very handsome dog..
