Too much. There's a 4 yr old titled male on puppyfind.com right now for $3500 and I have a feeling they'd probably take less or at least include shipping.

She is a middle-aged dog, not a robot.  Do you want her to have to adjust to a new home AND go on a strict diet at the same time?  That seems very unfeeling to me.

Well, let see I loved her temperament first and foremost, before the weight she was a awsome looking dog- nice structure, malish head, dark pigment . She was very active and has alot of toy and prey drive. Her pedigree is also a plus.

As for why she did not take that I don't know it could be that she was late in the heat, there is talk that the male that was used is from colder climate and it is very hot down here (other females did not take), or her weight  or ???????

She does have her hips done just don't know the score.

Do you think that the people would be willing to do half now and half when she produces?  If they are asking $3000 for her and she doesn't produce then you've only paid $1500 for an awesome pet.

MVF   I know that she is not getting out and exercising like she should. So i would be taking her for short walks to start off with. I think she would love the one on one time and I have yet to see a dog not like to go on a raw diet. And since she is older and well mannered she would spend 80% of her time in the house with the family not in a kennel.

That is a thought  I will ask.

you have to remember it will be a while before she can be breed (in my book) due to her weight. she is at least 20 + pounds over.

I paid top dollar for a German Bitch, proven producer in great shape.  Bessy is SchH 2, and KKL 2 (she is oversized)

I bought her sight unseen, (except photo's) , but had the elbow and hip (A Stamp) on her German pink papers. I also have her DNA from AKC. She has produced 2 awesome litters for us, no complications.....a slow whelper. I bought her at age 4.

You really need some more information on those hips and elbows. If she hasn't been bred in several heat cycles, at this age, she could be done. Good luck picking out a dog........if your heart is with her and you want to be her final home, offer 2k . They must allow a vet check, x-rays of hips in the least which you could ask to take off the price of her.   You could offer them a puppy back if she does whelp in your offer.

When I imported my female from Slovakia I had the option of paying 1000.00 more for putting a SVV1 title on her. Her hip rating will be stamped on her FCI papers. She was purchased from Eurosport so I am sure you could go to sold dogs and see her xrays , papers , breed survey, hip rating and videos of her working. So a family dog at her age is worth what someone would give plus a 1000.00 for the status a title gives. If she is overweight that might be the reason she did not take or she might be done with her breeding career.

The "not been worked often" and "overweight" count as 2 strikes in my book.  To me that's a bad sign that the owners haven't taken better care of her.  Maybe her hips and elbows were good when she was young and slim, but carrying around extra pounds in her autumn years... no good comes of that.  I'd personally tell that seller to take a hike, but it's up to you to gather the facts and make up your own mind, as you're the one who will live with the consequences.
