EKvonEarnhardt

There is not much more that can be said that has not already been said. Personally, I would like to see a better angle of the picture. But over all she is a very nice looking female. I am a sucker for Black sables and love the racoon eyes.

As Preston said "Unfortunately many American Shepherds and a fair number of West German GSDs have what is called "hair feet" that is long toes and thin pads which impedes their overall aguility and working ability and is much less attarctive"........      So to see feet as compact and thick padded as hers was very impressive.

I too would like to know her pedigree. and how old?

Okay, easy to understand where the quality is coming from now.  Just look at the three dogs she is line bred off of.  Again this shows the potency of the old breed wardens basic formula of "bringing out type" by using the 4-5 type line breeding (or an approximation).  The three dogs she is linebred off of are awesome.  I never could figure out why this type of linebreeding is so poweful for getting type.  I have been told by experienced breeders that if one breed much closer it can concentrate problems too much and cause a loss of vitality.  For some reason this type of linebreeding off of great dogs seems to bring out the best without a concentration of problems if the sire and dam are healthy and sound and the the dogs being linebred off of were healthy and sound.

Jyl, you got a good looking girl there. Kim, congratulations on that litter.

The trott will look different then what is seen in other lines. Thats not a biggy, as I think it is for the better of the dog and more correct. The trott looks very light and effortless as they walk on there toes, always ready to turn on a dime. It is not as far underneath reaching as in some lines, but there overall agility and endurance is better.

I really like her head, and its amazing how close in type your girl is to mine even tho they are out of different bloodlines.

Brix has a very nice DDR pedigree.  I do love the black sables. For a DDR dog and being short bodied like she is she still moves very nice. She has a nice front reach and is straight coming and going.

Thanks for the complements on her everyone!!

Jyl,

I disagree, she looks just right on the body length to me and not too short. We see so many dogs with bodies that are too long or low station (short legs) that we see the correct proportions as short.

She is quite beautiful.

Congratulations Kim on an excellent breeding.

Correction, I listed "hair feet" and it should have been "hare feet".

Yes, this bitch is the product of excellent and proper line breeding off of three exceptional and most impressive dogs.   I would bet the breeder had some very expert input from a breed warden or someone who knows these lines well and also knows trade secrets of top breeders on how to line breed for excellent quality.  To me it is no coincidence that this bitch looks so good.  It is due to the use of proper breeding methodology that has been proven over many years, knowledge used to extract and align the best genes these lines carry.  Congratulations to the breeder and owner.  This is  alesson for all to see what proper line breeding can do.

Your girl is awesome! She shares some of my pups lineage, so I'm partial, & maybe not so objective, but she sure looks good to me. Congradulations! jackie harris

She's a lovely girl.  Can't beat a black sable DDR dog for my money.

PS- Is that a "NO DOGS" sign in the background of the trotting pic?  Lol!
