Sad to see people live their lives afraid of everything from eating etc, seems like everything we do is gonna kill us! Guess what, were all going to die!

Got to admit 4pack and Preston have hit the nail on the head!

Actually if you read the facts the earth has actually slightly cooled ove rthe last 8 years..

The oceans of the world which are montiored all over have stayed unchanged which was a suprise to the crowd believing in global warming as the oceans being the mass of the world will be the primary indicator that the world is warming.

Of course the earth heats and cools but it is not caused my man!  But to be on the safeside I am offering for sale a green fart filter for $250.00.  I have models for humans, cows, dogs, cats and most other critters. Please send cash!

Sunsilver,

Don't let them get you down sun.   Man made or not, the earth is going through some change's and some of them wont think much of it until it cost's them money or take's their beach front property.

Global warming or not anyone who can't see the harm we are doing to the earth is a fool.

They just don't care.  Too many things are more important to them.

Whatever happen's it's beyond our control to do anything about it because it's a global issue.

Anyway I see what's happening and others do too.

Brent.

The funny thing is you people need to move to China, India and other Asian countries and try to stop them as the US is the cleanest industrial nation in the world.

Why do the main leaders of this global warming movement including gore and all the idiot movie stars continue to live the high life, flying all over the world many many trips, huge houses, gores electric useage is bigger now than when he was exposed a year ago, they show up in huge SUV and Limo's to give a speeh too us common folk to ride bikes and drive these tiny death traps ????????

If they really believed they would practice what they preach@. It is all a business to those people and they don't REALLY believe in now do they?

I don't mean to be dis-respectful but you people need to:FOLLOW THE MONEY!!!

T-shirts sayings and bumper stickers you can see here in Alaska:

AFGW--Alaskans For Global Warming!

I don't know how much greenhouse gases have to do with the warming of the earth, I'm sitting on the fence with this one.  However, I did learn in one interesting college class the well established THEORY that human beings have never existed in an era outside the Ice Age.  Our species came to dominance in the Ice Age, and in Geological time, we are still in an Ice Age.  This warming trend could be the begainings of a natural swing the other way.  Perhaps carbon emissions are speeding that change up by hundreds or thousands of years.  Both sides have good arguments.

Oh by the way..............

I am a strong believer in protecting the envirnoment!   Do ever thing I can to protect it and not be wasterful of water or any other natural resource, I recycle all I can, we keep our elec useage down all we can and so on.  I just really think from all the facts that i read that global warming is a hoax as far as being caused by mankind.

2M, my point is that the same corps that have spread poison and pollution to maximize profits are the ones now pushing all this diversity, political correctness, animal welfare, shortage of oil, terrorism, globalism or global fascism, and the green revolution.  I say let's enforce existing laws against polluters within reason  and work to create better engines than run cleaner and more efficiently, but lets not let these fascist pigs turn everything good upside down.

One factor folks are missing is the effects on the worldwide weather control and regional and national weather manipulations (there is now solid proof of secret weather warfare that is going on between certain nations).  Our prior secretary of defense William Cohen admitted in a closed door session (press happened to be present and recorded it) that certain countries have are now using high tech electronic weather warfare weapons.  You can find this quote if you do a google search.  Also it was admitted today in a local TV station in the US today that cloud seeding in the rocky mountains to get more snow for the ski resorts is probably contributing to the drought and fires in California.  You can google HAARP, weather control, weather war, chemtrails.  The German media has already telecast videos of the German Air Force admitting they were spraying chemtrails with special aircraft to influence the weather and stop the effects of gloabal warming.  Samples of what is being sprayed were collected by a TV station in the US and tested and found to have high concentratuion of toxic minerals such a boron and lots of strange bacteria and hemophalusi influenza virus.  In the US the plan is a special compartmentalized super deep pure black dod funded op run out of the University of Michigan.

Quote of a speech given by US Sec. of Defense William Cohen at the Sam Nunn Policy Forum on 4-28-97 at the University of Georgia: "Others are engaging even in an eco-type of terrorism whereby they can alter the climate, set off earthquakes, volcanoes remotely through the use of electromagnetic waves."

Brittany,

The enhanced Fujita scale is used to categorize TORNADO damage, not hurricanes. The Safir-Simpson scale is used for Hurricanes. Typhoons are hurricanes that occur in other parts of the world, such as the recent one in Myanmar. As far as some of the hurricanes you name, trust me, there have been others that were far stronger. But, when people continue to build in unsafe areas, and governments blow it as did all levels of government with Katrina, then yes, the destruction seen is monumental.

I think that it is important that we all do our part to protect our piece of the earth, but since I was able to read I was fascinated with the history of the earth (at least the versions available then) and I have continued to read as our interpretations of this history have changed a bit as we are able to do more detailed investigation and precise modelling.

Can the human race truely cause global warming? I do not think so, and will state things based upon personal assumptions from my education thus far. First: when compared to the mass of the elements of the earth (including the atmosphere) we are at best, tiny and nearly not measureable. Second: whatever we make through chemical reaction or nuclear reaction is from elements derived here, and it stays here. Essentially, the expression "there is nothing new under the sun" applies when I type this.

Can we cause short-term/long-term and serious damage to isolated areas? We sure can, and we sure have. But even the most toxic and/or radioactive components eventually break down and/or dissipate. Consider the time that we humans have been on this earth compared to the theoretical age of the earth. Essentially, we are now here (counting our protohuman hominid form) for about 0.003 of the time the earth has existed.

My opinions again. We have far more to dread from pandemic or epidemic disease and starvation than we do from global warming. It is inevitable that we as a race will continue to proliferate until we do not have sufficient food or clean water. At that end, we will solve the problem through our own means. I think we can all envision how that would happen.

Best Regards,

Bob-O

 Bob-O,

You are correct in all aspects. Before long, there will be more fighting over food and water and essential resources on this planet that can only sustain so many people. A global pandemic is not out of the question either, be it from some avian influenza or otherwise.

In any case, how the heck are you? I have not heard from you in a long time. I hope work is going well. Busy summer here with many guests from Europe. Come visit!

Best regards!

I'm with ya Bob. Earth Science and History are my favs. Plate techtonics, volcano, weather patterns and even early humans are all great stuff to read about. I hate all of this techno crap and even as a kid, thought I was born at least 200 years too late. I'd fare pretty well and almost hope for a collapse of society here. No more power, AC, TV, cars, money and instant food. OMG the welfare genertaion just might have to get off their asses or starve!
