Hello

I have a question. Would it be OK to feed my dogs honey comb tripe a few times a week? I give them cooked beef liver two or three times a week which I hide in the yard. I hide it under articles and tell them to search...we have a lot of fun. I was thinking of doing the same think with tripe. Any suggestions????????

Thanks for you comments in advance, Sandra

SKI:  You're welcome.  You'll love dealing with Candy and you'll love the product even more.

elrombo:  "Honey comb" tripe as you call it is generally tripe sold in the stores that has been bleached and cleaned for human consumption.  It won't hurt your dog as far as you using it for article searches and training treats and such but it holds little-to-no nutritional value for your dog so it shouldn't be fed in treat form as a nutritional part of the dog's diet if you're raw feeding.

Green tripe is uncleaned and still contains the partially digested legume matter and digestive enzymes that are beneficial as part of the raw diet.  Stinks to high heaven.  There's no mistaking it. Great nutritional value for the dogs when fed as the muscle meat part of the raw diet.

Hope that helps.

Hi JustLurkin Thank you for answering my question and also for your suggestion. I bought a 10 pound box of honey comb tripe from the butcher and I had told my husband if my dogs can't eat it I am going feed it to him, LOL!!! Sandra
