In HGH, dog has to grip & out on command, also jump the pen fence.
Sounds like SchH does it not?

A little more than an instinct test, Oh you will chase after the sheep!!!

I understand why they need this LOLOL..Some of the working line have so much prey drive you must be sure that when they will bite the hell out of the sheep..they will out LOL.

Jump the pen fence..that's really useful in herding..

REAL GSD...we could talk about that until we all die..Deejays..try to be at least a little open minded.  I didn't make the AKC rules but people who are doing AKC events obey by them..same with the SV.

Over the year In the end that's what changes the breed. Different standard judge by different people.  If you don't like AKC events than just Don't go but for me Herding is about HERDING not about releasing a out or jumping a fence. It's about HERDING DUCKS SHEEPS OR CATTLES.

An about REAJ GSD..I happen to own 4.

You stated "Isn't that what they we're bred to do in the beginning??"

The answer is yes HGH!!!

I guess you did not go to the link, don't want to know the truth about GSD Herding!!!

all the traits that made a GSD a good herding dog are all the traits they test for in a SchH trial.  To think otherwise is shortsighted and silly.

I've read the herding instinct test and the HGH.  Apples and oranges.

Herding instinct test is just to show if the dog as Instinct. Not that he is ready to herd.

Very interesting site...Now i'm laughing cause after I read it realise what kind of grip you we're talking aboutLOL

But it is only 6 points..If the dog doesn't grip..Does he fails?..Is he disqualified??
