Tigermouse,
I am familiar with the busted lip's and being head butted always by accident of course.
And one of my dog's does have a bit of a shoe fetish.....lol Well my wife's shoe's I should say.
I have had two broken rib's and the rope burn's you speak of from a long line.
Both hand's and arms look like I have been thrashing a briar patch altho some of that is from my other work.
And then there is my back, we wont even got there. Let's just say I appreciate pain pill's. Again I can't blame all that on the dog's but working with a 75 pound pup is hard on anybody's back.
I too have four dog's and there just aren't enough hour's in a day. Or enough pain pills to go round.
So... your not alone tigermouse...OUCH !!
Brent.

AH the headbutting! I can remember that a few years ago. One of my babies (Couldn't remember which dog did it) headbutted me (I was kissing one of them on the head) and the results was an emergency root canal done on my front tooth. I was in so much pain before the procedure. I also recieved busted up lips.
I learned a while back not to swim anywhere near the dog! My arms, legs were scratched up pretty bad from Jakes nails.
When Jake was a puppy and teething with them sharp puppy teeth.. He decided to chew on my fingers and ended up giving me a nasty wound.
KCzaja, Did you pick up the camcorder and captured this on film? It could be a winning video on America most funniest home videos or/and The Planet's Funniest Animals :)

My favorite wasn't caused by a dog per se.....I was strapping down crates with a bungee cord....when the bungee cord attacked me.....split my forehead open from about 1/2 inch north of the middle of my nose to my scalp....6 stitches....
After that I called for BSL on Bungee cords......

I also have had many busted lips, head butts, rope burns and various nips and accidental bites. The worst of those bites coming from my older female, Heike. We had evacuated for Hurricane Frances and were staying with a friend in Tampa (FL). He had a rather territorial Catahoula Cur with a bit of dog aggression thrown in. We had been careful to keep the two dogs apart because Heike is also a strong female. We were out in the backyard and I was standing with Heike on my left side when my friend's 6 year old let his dog out by mistake. When Cheyenne (the Cur) came up to see me she and Heike ended up face to face. I'm not sure who started it, but I was right in the middle of it and ended up with a hard core full mouth bite on my right calf from Heike. I was lucky that I was wearing jeans or I would have been hurt a lot worse than four deep punctures and major bruising.
This one happened to a helper I used to work with years ago......She was working a young dog and got careless with her free hand. We never even saw her flinch, but when she came over after finishing with the dog, her right hand had a nasty gash between her thumb and forefinger. The best part of it is that she is a paramedic and kept a complete first aid kit in her truck that included a suture kit . There was a guy there who had been a corps man (not sure I spelled that right) in the Navy, so after she hit it with Lidocaine, he stitched it up right there on the training field. We commented on how tough she was to keep working the dog after getting bit like that and she said it was because he was a young dog and she wanted him to finish on a positive note. Now THAT'S a dedicated helper.

Pretty much the same, busted lips, bruised nose, scratched arms and legs, torn pants. My worst dog related injury was one of my girls ran through me instead of around me to get her ball..... Knees don't bend that way. Grade 4 MCL tear and dislocated knee cap. Full leg brace for 4-months. Hinged knee brace an additional few months and I still keep it with me as my knee still acts up. Then there's horse related injuries.......

What, the kennel hook incident? Sadly, no, but I did win a fabulous blood stained T-shirt and a rather annoying lump of scar tissue on the inside of my nose.

Darned - the worst I have had is a fractured fibula due to a tracking line accident [if you are rewarding a trailing dog (search and rescue) with a ball unclip the tracking line before you tease them up and throw the ball ]
.... and a nosebleed from my dog slamming into my face, being pulled on my ass playing tug, and they rarely occassional bloody finger due to a rebite.

I haven't had too bad a time with injuries thank goodness.
I think my worst one was as I was coming down the stairs, my girlie decided she wanted to get down the stairs quicker than me and accidentally knocked me. I ended up bumping down a few steps on my bottom and finished up lying on my back with one of the ballistrades wedged in between my little toe and the toe next to it. The skin in between my toes split quite deeply and it poured with blood. I was oblivious to it though as I was more concerned to make sure my girl was ok, which she was. She was just stood there at the bottom of the stairs looking up with her tail wagging. I hadnt realised how much it was bleeding until my husband helped pick me up and I seen all the blood over the carpet!
