A question for all you sable addicts!

Is there any way to determine just how dark a sable pup will become as an adult? And can you tell if a sable pup is a black/ grey sable like http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/535314.html or a sable like http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/403032.html ?

Do grey sables have grey sable pups and 'black and tan' sables the same?

Thanks in advance!
