Bhall how many dogs have you bought and gotten screwed on? There are reputable breeders on this board that have impeccable reputations.

Birgit-
In law, defamation (also called vilification, slander, and libel) is the communication of a statement that makes a false claim, expressively stated or implied to be factual, that may give an individual, business, product, group, government or nation a negative image. Slander refers to a malicious, false, and defamatory statement or report, while libel refers to any other form of communication such as written words or images. Most jurisdictions allow legal actions, civil and/or criminal, to deter various kinds of defamation and retaliate against groundless criticism. Related to defamation is public disclosure of private facts which arises where one person reveals information which is not of public concern, and the release of which would offend a reasonable person.[1] "Unlike libel or slander, truth is not a defence for invasion of privacy."[2]
False light laws are "intended primarily to protect the plaintiff's mental or emotional well-being."[3] If a publication of information is false, then a tort of defamation might have occurred. If that communication is not technically false but is still misleading then a tort of false light might have occurred.[3]
If you continue this defamation of my name I will take you to court! I gave you my attorney's information and yet he hasn't heard from you.

The econemy is having it's effect and in about a year I plan to buy a new pup and whatever the markets dictates is what I will try to pay. I don't see anything wrong with offers. If someone offers something unacceptable just say no. You are correct in that with so many breeders online it can be hard for many buyers to really understand the difference between GSD's as a quality made web site can be enticing. Most buyers are just pet people anyway.
Same in selling a house right now, my friend just sold his and he had to give a few "deals" in order to sell his house. On the other side he can get a better deal buying a house now.

I am flexible on price to working homes, or to prospective buyers who are willing to take a pup to one of my obedience classes so I can keep tabs on them. However, I have been given offers as low as $300-500. That does not even cover cost per puppy. I tell people to do their homwork and they will see how reasonable my prices are.
Honestly if someone is going to skimp on price, what else will they skimp on? Food? Health care? Training? You're better off recommending people like that to a local resuce group or shelter.

I hate it when someone gives you a 'sob story' over the phone, & then insults you when they come to inspect the puppy, & meet the parents. The dude cried me a river when we spoke on the phone; but when we met, he first tore down my bitch, then waved an "Introduction to German Shepherd Dogs" book at me, pointing at pictures in the book to illustrate what he wanted, then critiqued my puppy point by point, not saying anything too awful about the pup, then the clincher,"Nah, I dunno...could you work with me on the price?" I politely declined. As most of you know my pups were priced very reasonably, I didn't come close to making back our costs; & then insult my sweet Kali??? And expect a bargain??? I don't think so!!! jackie harris

I agree with you all but I think alot of buyers don't understand the amount of work/time/research/expense that you do vs someone who buys a couple of dogs and breeds them, alot on the pkg. of your website.

Firelight,
stop the BS. You have never emailed me back. You took my money and I never heard from you again. I have emailed you several times. I told you to keep the $500 non-refundable deposit and mail me my $1,000 back. You decided to keep all the money. Shame on you. I really thought you were a honest person. I learned though.

Bhall,
I agree the kennels website is misleading, lots of links to german titles and commands etc. The opening page talks about SchH etc, but none of the breeding stock is titled in Schutzhund very misleading to a novice. I feel 1500.00 a puppy is too much, maybe 600.00 is more like it.

bgstout,
it was actually an adult that was sold to me but not even owned by her. I was very interested in that dog because it came from a good kennel (Eurosport) .
I backed out because I found out some things about the dog after I already paid $1,500 and $500 was non-refundable.
The price was $3,000 plus a pup out of my Glenn. I told her to keep the $500 because it was non-refundable and to give me back the $1,000.
I guess she decided to keep it all. I was even willing to let her use my DDR male Glenn for the future because she emailed me several times about him but the money was more important to her then a good business relationship.
Firelight, you can call it slander or whatever you want to. I call it the truth.
Take the money and enjoy a night out on me.

I recall reading your name and photos being posted by you? The thread has since been removed but I'm pretty sure it was you.
I know someone who archived the thread, I'll ask to be sure so forgive me if I have you confused with some one else.
