Oli, I second the motion of disclosing IP #'s.  I know that they are not foolproof but maybe it will stop some of the accusations from being bandied about.  Maybe we can determine who is actually the raven haired beauty who didn't care that her man was trolling for internet connections and telling us all about his conquests in the bars.  Yes, maybe that will help explain the "backup" Abhay always receives, no matter how gruesome his post is.

I am glad that Abhay has finally confessed to having at least one other identity on here.  I have not looked it up but I would think that it would be a no-no as far as registration with this forum is concerned.  But.....who cares.  Some here love his pirate talk.  I found it amusing myself, especially when he had to just use regular old english because he ain't a real pirate.

HeHaHa.  You kill me two face.  Moved did ya.  Nice way of having to not prove that 35,000 acre and 60+ dogs lie.

Okay, this is the part where someone has the audacity to chime in with a smart remark.

by Abhay on 02 July 2008 - 21:07

lol Yellowrose, the last time the IP'#'s were shown it showed Plenty! Most of the people here just didn't know what they were looking at. At that time Doright had AOL IP#'s. If Oli will put the IP#'s up, I can prove it! On the thread below K9hooligan posts with an AOL# and then Doright responds after another post with the same exact AOL IP#.

http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/bulletins_read/155539.html#156706

I tell you what Yellowrose, If I am wrong or a liar, I will never return to this forum again, under any handle. I am risking a lot by putting this out here. Now on the "GSD Bait" thread, Doright claims he never had AOL. Lets see who is mistaken and a liar. The link you put up costs $$ to even use.

Like Two Moons said, "Stand up and be recognized. Lest ye have something to hide." My old IP# will be out for all to see, as well as my new one. My Colorado IP# never changed. As  I have said before, AOL IP#'s change everytime a user reboots their computer. AOL users can share the same IP#'s at different times, but not on the same thread on the same day. Put em up!

Damn, it's been awhile since I've been here last and you guys are still talking about ip addresses being posted?

IP addresses identify a computer not the person using it.  That’s the same as a telephone; just because a call was made from a number doesn’t tell you exactly who was talking. Nonetheless, I suspect that most people believe their phone number is quite personal. I.P. addresses need to be treated as personal information. Period.

I'm quite sure that Oli doesn't want the liability involved in sharing your personal information to the general public. Ask for IP addresses all day long but most forum owners are smart enough not to post them. I'm quite sure that if there is an administrative issue, the admins on this forum will handle it with discretion like the majority of other forum administrators and moderators.

For what it's worth, the nursing forum I moderated on allowed moderators to see and research IP numbers. Duplicate accounts were forbidden, and offenders were warned, then the duplicate was deleted. If they came back with another duplicate, they were BANNED.

Many websites I've been on operate this way. It's pretty much SOP.  Some sites allow alternate ID's for special reasons, such as creative 'role playing' and fan fiction, but the user must be open about the alt. ID and not try to hide who they are.

Now that sounds a little kinky! Exactly what sites are you hanging out on Sunsilver?

Seems Abhay and I do have something in common.  I too would like everyone to be seen as who they are.  It sure would be something to see how nice everyone would all of a sudden become, if their identity was "out there".

I wasn't coming to this site during the time IP addresses were being shown, but I understand from previous postings that it showed I and a female had the same IP address, as well as some others.  I am not computer savvy enough to explain how that happens so I will not attempt to.  I have stated that I have never had AOL and I do not nor have ever.  They only two services I have ever had are Wal Marts service and currently Hughes Net satellite service.  Now if one of those is somehow tied in wtih AOL, then my bad.  My previous email address was conditionfreak@wmconnect.net.  My currect email address is on file with this databaswe and you can email me if'en you like.

I think that it is "telling" and comical, that in the same posting that Abhay asks Oli to show IP #'s, he outs himself as having another ID screen name on this site.  I guess he couldn't really ask Oli what he wanted to ask, until he did that.  Too funny.

Oh, Colorado?  That is not what you said previously :)

Abhay, does the offer stand that you will leave this site under ALL of your aliases (including any future ones) if it is proved you are a liar?  Does an adminition from you count as proof?  Because if it does, then you are already gone from here.  Bye Bye.

Hardawgs, damn, I knew someone with a twisted mind would pick up on that!

It sounds kinky, but it ain't. I'm a geeky Tolkien (Lord of the Rings) fan, and some of us do co-operative storytelling (aka 'role playing') on Tolkien related themes. Some of the writing sucks, some of it is pretty good. Here's an example that has fairly consistent good writing:

http://forums.theonering.com/viewtopic.php?p=196081

The challenge is to respond to other's posts in a way that keeps continuity in the story. Sometimes it's hard, especially when the story takes a turn you hadn't planned on, and you have to throw out a bit of story you had all plotted out.

In this case, most of  the participants are writing under their main ID, though I know Shagrat has an alternate ID or two, or three...  ....or more!

Take a gander at the poll at the top of THIS thread: http://forums.theonering.com/viewtopic.php?p=3533526

Walter, I don't need to inform Oli of anything.  When it comes to the DB, Oli is all knowing, and all seeing.  Oli is well aware of all the handles I use. He is well aware of all the handles you use as well.  When, and if, Oli posts the IP's, we will see who speaks the truth.

Abhay!

I knew you were Capt. Mike because several times you answered posts under the

Abhay moniker but with Capt. Mike's jargon.

I didn't want to out you so I just laughed and let it go. But I have known for quite a while. LOL

I was deeply surprised no one else seemed to pick up on it.

by Abhay on 02 July 2008 - 22:07

Hey Ninja, That isn't the worst of it. lol  I have messed up a bunch of times.
