Those are awesome pics and very humbling to see the span of SchH history you've been a part of.

Just my two cents..How sad it is to muzzle a dog for title in the sport world as well as other workings.Too sad that people continually breed and market and forget the grandness of the old GSD.

Rainhaus-

Andy did not "need" a muzzle. Its part of the police-dog routine. All dogs enter the field muzzled, then do the long down TOGETHER, with handlers out of sight.  Its more a tradition than anything else I think.

What I, just an amateur photographer, was trying capture was the handler, taking a few minutes to "commune" with his beloved dog, just prior to stepping onto the trial field. He had just gotten the USA officials' permission to go ahead and compete, despite his "department" (actually the State police for his German state) forbidding his uniform from traveling out of his country. The the rules state that only "uniformed" officers may participate.

I only wish I could find my pictures of the actual performance. They must be here somewhere. ;-) This is what happens when one doesn't sort and label 20+ years of photographs, just tosses them in plastic tubbies and cardboard boxes, rummaging through every year or so looking for one in particular, then tosses them back in the now decrepit boxes and tubbies...

Shelly,

Have you thought about talking to someone about self publishing these to some kind of a book?

No. But I am thinking I ought to put my collection in my will, left to someone who will appreciate it.

Ahmem, do you need my full name and address for the legacy type thingy? LOL

You have invaluable history there, the pics with your memories of the events would make one hell of a book.   Really wish you would think about it.

Next time I blow out my knees I'll think about the book thing. LOL
