I have purchased a dog off Stefano March and Haus Mailand kennel so have first hand experiance. The dog he sold me had a hernia which he knew about and thought best not to tell me for what ever reason!!!Paper work took months to arrive.

Although I have never purchased a dog from Haus Mailand I have used one of his dogs at stud and have always found Stefano to be most helpful . He has also taken a keen interest in the puppies by his stud dog and we have kept in regular contact. I would have no problems in purchasing a puppy from Haus Mailand Kennels they have bred and own some very nice dogs.

I have purchsed from Stefano, he was great to deal with. Received the dog in good health, no issues getting the papers. The dog was exactly what he stated. He also follows his dogs and likes to be kept current on them.

Linda as a breeder would you sell a dog with a hernia that you knew about as you have took it to a vets???(as Stefano did)and not tell the new owner????I hope not and this is exactly what he did!!Not a thing that a person concerned about the welfare of an animal would do i think. It is not just me that seems to have had problems with this breeder please check this link below another happy customer.I can not confirm if this information is correct but maybe this coupled with my experiance is why Stefano wishes for people to contact him first rather than ask on this forum if anyone has had any dealings with this kennel. Not a response a breeder with nothing to hide would do but maybe use the enquiry as free advertisment. http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/bulletins_read/148699.html#148738

Scubastrong.
As a breeder no I would not sell a puppy with a hernia without telling the purchaser. Also as a breeder I have Bred puppies that have had hernias and any breeder who tells you they have never bred a puppy with a hernia is either a liar or they have not bred many litters. The biggest majority of hernias are very small and cause no trouble what so ever. Larger Hernias are easily repaired. We once bred a puppy who had quite a large hernia which we had repaired by our vet when the puppy was 8 weeks old. He was sold as a pet and yes his new owners did know he had had an op to repair his hernia he is now 9 Years old and has never had any problems.
Re Haus Mailand Kennels I still stand buy what I wrote. Stefano has always been most helpful and I would have no problems purchasing a puppy from him.

Linda, good you would not sell a dog with a hernia without telling the new owner,So we have established that you are a better breeder than Stefano March of the Haus mailand Kennel as that is exactly what he did with us!!!! I never said that other breeders did not breed dogs with hernias just that Haus mailand kennels sold me a dog with a hernia and never thought to mention it.WHY???so in my opinion they are not a very reptuable kennel and not one that i would reccomend as any breeder with the dogs welfare and the supposed back up and support you mention would not do this under handed thing.I am not bothered if the hernia is big or small just the fact a breeder would allow a dog to leave his kennel with a potentially fatal problem without advising the new owner that a hernia had been found when he went for a vet check but wait for an excited new owner to find it when he gets the dog home. This kennel is having many problems with there dogs as customers are reporting ie Fake passports,no papers for a dog that was paid for in 2007 and selling dogs with known medical conditions.Of course this man is interested in your pups that you had from a litter from his stud dog Dito van noort!!!he wants to promote his dog and hopes one day you will use again!! !I would think twice before putting the creditation of your own kennel on the line over Haus mailand as I had this misfortune of having my passport confiscated for several hours by the port police at Calais along with Stefano marchs passport as he failed to declare his dogs he was returning to the UK maybe due to the fact he was bringing a dog into the UK on a fake passport and a Belgique friend had to collect the dog before we could return to the UK after Belgium sieger. And maybe the fact Cynthia Larsson owner of Dione v Haus Mailand has been told her bitch was being put in for her Schh title when the said Bitch was sat in a kennel in the UK may shed some more good light on this man and his dodgy dealings!!!How do i know i was sat at the side of him when he was ringing around to find someone to take the bitch in their kennel and stateing the bitch could not be seen as she was supposed to be in Germany getting title!!!!!Yes i was also with him when he was telling Cynthia larrson that the bitch was in Germany getting her titles when Dione v Hausmailand was in the back of the van on the return trip from Germany!!!!Now do you recommend him????

Korzwin are a well respected kennel scubastrong but i agree her alliegance to haus mailand kennel may be detremental i know this man sells his dogs through a lady called Dani miller on here and also on epupz why????on epupz Check under gsd Lancashire and all Haus mailaind pups pop up but under her advert not his!!!Why would a reputable kennel do this pay some to advertise his dogs??In my opinion it must be because he has something to hide but it is always his telephone number ending in 161 so has to be same dogs!!!!Although not personally i hear he gets his fake passport through a man in germay called Alfons Rockenhaur(pardon the spelling)of Oasis kennels yes his reputation preceeds him and uses the same vet for around 40-50 euro for a fake passport. Why do these people exsist in the gsd world to make a buck or 2 maybe but for sure its not for the best of the breed.SO AVOID HAUS MAILAND AND OASIS

Oh yes almost forgot I bought my dog as a pet but tried a bit of showing the dog grew to tall Stefanos answer to a dog he sold as a pet???Sell it it costs you to keep the dog when i explained he was bought as a pet and was part of the family he laughed at me and told me i was stupid and could not comprehend the fact we felt of our wonderful dog as part of our family.A man who loves the animals he breeds and is concerned in???? YES MAYBE IF IT CAN PROMOTE HIS KENNEL NAME but then i dont see too many Haus mailand winners in the show ring at presant!!!!

scubastrong-
I have never met a breeder who is a psychic as well, you just cant tell the exact size and height of a dog just by looking at a 8 week old puppy
If you really wanted to show then yes you find a super pet home for the dog and get another, what did you want him to say ? did you expect him to chop a bit off?
i don't know stefano but i have seen his dogs and they look nice well balanced and healthy.
as for hernias i have had pups with them NO BIG DEAL. he should have told you but didn't you check your pup before you bought it????
perhaps if you changed your attitude he would be more helpful.
I expect that your expectations were too high BREEDERS DONT HAVE A 6th SENSE
my advice to you is buy an adult next time then you can see exactly what your buying.
