There is a time limit. I am physically unable to complete an AD without worrying whether I could make it in time. I hire a high school kid to do it.  You might wish to do the same.

Of course, at certain California clubs, I've known of some AD's to only be 2-3 miles long!

Ha ha ha ha ha! I saw one in Germany that only took about 15 min... just long enough to fill out the scorebooks at the table in the clubhouse between glasses of brandy. It was raining. I didn't see a single bicycle.

So I take it that in some clubs AD stand for Alcohol Drinking?

Hi Hodie

Im only 67 years old, The distance of 12 miles will be no problem, and i am well fit enough to do that,

its wheher i will be able to ride a Bike again after forty years off them, but i have time to practise if i get a second hand Bike, I want to do it myself, as i do with all the training of the two Dogs

 Steve1,

Then you are a youngster and if you can, sure do it yourself. But do train so as to not injure yourself. You and the dog will enjoy it.

Our ADs are run by the book because we have judges here that we KNOW will judge by the book. If others cheat, well, that is for the organizations to take care of, but of course, rules, and even bylaws are not equally applied either.

In any case Steve1, good luck and enjoy your rides.

Hi Hodie

I run three miles four times a week, to help keep me fit have done so for as many years as i can remember, My Day starts at Six in the morning and finishes when its dark, in summer time at 5.oclock

The Pigeons, Dogs, my  excerise and the Garden, keep me busy all day long

I will have to learn to get used to a bike again but five or six weeks should be enough.

We have plenty of oportunities over here in Belgium, from now on there are Trials going on every week but of course you have to enter weeks in advance but there will be near on sixty clubs over here

and i can drive from one end of Belgium to the other in three and a half  hours, probably  the whole of Belgium is  just a pin prick in say one of your States over there

I wish trials and shows were as frequent and as close. Our club sponsors two trials a year and one show and Körung. Our state has perhaps 15 or so and only in spring and summer..... This is how it is in much of the country.

Wishing you good training!
