First, I am Firelight Kennel and I don't HAVE to give AKC papers on ANY puppy or dog I breed or own. It is at my discretion and agreed upon between myself and the buyer. ALL of my puppies bred by me and sold will only come with limited AKC - NO EXCEPTIONS. My puppies are limited and will ONLY be registered full registration AFTER they are 2yrs old, titled and hips/elbows are certified clear. I have NO issue allowing breeding rights but do have problems with those that don't breed for the better of the breed.
Second, I DID NOT breed the 2 dogs you pointed out on my website. I am just trying to place them in a good home as I do not have papers from their breeder and won't be able to get the papers hence why they don't have papers.
I am also requiring they be "fixed" as to assure they don't become some backyard breeders next breeding stock. Both have great pedigrees but without papers and being OFA'd and titled they shouldn't and WON'T be bred.
Instead of slandering someone on here, maybe try asking that person direct since you don't seem to know what in the hell you are talking about. If my name or kennel name is mentioned again my attorney will be in touch.

Its very simple, look at what is happening to our breed in the US. Look at the condition and the life of dogs in the hands of most big breeders. I would much rather preffer one of my puppies be in a pet home than with a breeder, thus I sell predominantly to pet homes or once in a great while to small breeders with an approved breeding program. Most of my girls leave with limited reg. I have rescued a few dogs from other breeders; emaciated to the point of the fist stages of kidney/liver failure, kept in small crates in dirrect sunlight, dogs that were bought for $5,000 plus from europe. Look at PuppyFind.com and you will find a few 9-12month old females being sold already pregnant. Thus to k9sar06. It is entirely up to a breeder to decide whether the puppies they produce or the dogs they sell are placed with limited, full or no papers at all. Its something everyone should do. Look at the Corgi breed, almost ALL puppies from responsible breeders are sold already spayed/nuetered or with no AKC until fixed. Those puppies are still priced at $1,000 and up. And to get a puppy with full reg., you usually have to co-own with the breeder and have to have developed a relationship with them.

AND SO NICE OF YOU TO WANT TO PLACE A DOG WITHOUT PAPERS FOR 1,200. Another mother teresa

K9 i didnt mean to slander, and i didnt, just asking why the high price and no papers. People that do it for the love of the animal, do it for free, actually lose money for the dog. you took it wrong. sorry
by k9sar06 on 25 March 2008 - 23:03
So I should just give you a trained dog for free!??
I don't need to advertise whether I am the breeder or not. You didn't contact me that I know of and those that did where told that I am unable to get them from the original breeder. Why do you feel you have to try to call me out specifically when all you needed to do was simply post your question without making a reference to me or my kennel?

It's all self serving, self delusion, IMO.
Some people breed dozens of litters in their lifetime and then fight tooth and nail to keep others from breeding any.
I think a better way to curtail excess canine population would be for ethical people to limit themselves to one or two litters in a lifetime.

K9 I said sorry, please go take a valume. It wasnt personal. The site didnt say they were fully trained, just started. I was asking a question that two moons seemed to answer correctly. This was about papers, not trained mutts.. sorry . Have a good night

Personally, just because a dog doesn't have registration papers doesn't mean it has no value. It appears these dogs have training so they have more value to some people than an untrained dog. It is actually very common that dogs purchased by Police Depts have no registration papers however are from great lines. Some of these PD's pay up to $5,000 for the dogs. A good dog is a good dog regardless of a piece of paper. At least this person is being responsible and requireing that the dogs are not bred.
As someone else said, if you are in the market and don't like the dogs offered by these people, you are welcome to take your business elsewhere.

Wow. Is absolutely no one seeing the positive side of this?!
If I have a pup with a *disqualifying fault* it gets sold under limited registratioon for a lower price. I don't tell any lies, I am up front about the pups limited reg. from the 1st moment I talk to a prospective buyer.
Second, I will GLADLY lift limited registration on a BREED QUALITY dog when it reaches 2, certifies with OFA, and obtains some form of working title/certification.
Some vultures on this board are never happy, they complain you don't care, they complain when you do care. Whatever.
