Ceph, You might want to check with the specific FCI breed club, as some do require that you have a residence in the country of registration.

Sadly I meet the criteria for that in Italy through my Grandmother - and they're the kennel club I havent heard back from...though I will say that the Italians are notoriously chaotic. I think I am going to try to get into contact with the FCI through the links Bob-O posted - and if I dont get any answers from that I may try petitioning the VDH or RvB.

What I meant was that you personally need to own property/residence in that specific country.
