Sorry, I live in the U.S. here and my conversions are not that great. Every dog is different, just like people what it takes to get them to lose weight. You'd be surprised at how little food they can really survive on. I wanted to get my older girl to lose a few pounds. She was getting 2 cups per day, granted this was a little higher calorie food that the younger ones were eating. I ended up giving her 1 cup per day and 1 can of green beans per day. And it still took her 6 months to lose 7 pounds. I'm with GSDlvr in cutting the food back drastically. You can always add "fillers" ie" green beans or sometimes plain canned pumpkin works pretty well.
And yes, I certainly know about "doesn't eat that much."

100 gms does sound like little but what is the amount of protein and fat on the label of the bag per 100 gms?
Oats can add weight as well but corn is much worse. Oats have a higher protein content than corn but I don't remember how much. I think corn is only 8% protein.

Carbs look to be a bit on the high side to me. If he's not burning it off, he does not need that many carbs.
What is his weight in Kgs? I can figure out what that is in pounds, lol. And good to know that 100 grms in 1 cup.

by tigermouse on 18 March 2008 - 00:03
he is 45 kg
thanks for all the help guys

So, that makes him roughly 99 pounds. Is he very tall, I'd probably shoot for 85 pounds with this dog from the looks of him. :) You might want to go to 125 to 150 grms of this food to start or switch to a different food.
