Is that showline or workingline?

by Stonehaus on 08 April 2008 - 23:04
No way it could be showline. It would never get past the Standard police.Plus if you tie some copper to it and stake it the groung it could double as a lightning rod. (Working wire lines)

My guess was workingline but there are showlines look good and are built correctly and work well too.
I'd like to see how this wire-coated dog works. Does anyone have video?

I offer this just as some trivia, but I seem to recall that in the beginning of the GSD breed the wire-coated dog (and the rough-coated as well as the smooth-coated) was recognized and allowed. If memory serves correctly the wire-coated dog was one of the first determined to have a "fault" and removed from the standard and I believe this action preceeded the removal of white coats from the breed standard.
Of course one occassionally sees the lasting evidence of the wire coat on the occassional dog-usually in the area just below the withers.Corinna, I am sorry to hear about the passing of your dog, but it is really neat that he is represented in this way. Unique, to say the least.
Regards,
Bob-O

"Zauber" was from working lines. His wire image has very strong nerves. Nothing fazes this guy.

Thanks Bob-O. It is neat to have him in wire. I would rather have the real dog back but this is fun.
As an aside -These boards are the greatest. Shepherd people have the best sense of humour as reflected in above posts.

Sorry Corinna,
I missed the post about the wire dog being modeled after you now deceased dog. Makes my comments seem insensitive reading back through this.

Hey, no worries, I have thick skin (or is it a thick coat ?)
