Wow you are insecure.

Good talking to you..... NOT.

Gotta agree with Jeff on this one.   The Malinois was not intended to be a "pet" - there are enough "pet" type breeds of  dogs out there that can run for miles with the children - even some of the "designer dogs".   I won't even get started on the "show side".  Tom if you really care about the breed.....you would not suggest a "pet" Malinois.  The backyard breeders are churning out pups and ruining the breed, even more so since the Seal Team publicity....no, I'm not surprised....look what was done to the German Shepherd and the Doberman:( - I definitely don't want the Malinois breed to "evolve" into what they have.    You also need to reread what Jeff wrote - he never said he was one of the founder of the breed.  The only thing I will agree with you on (Tom) is that Jeff does have an ego...but then most of us Marines do:)

My impression is that the real strength of the Mal is extrodinary versatility. A really good dog with the intelligence of a Mal should have the sense to know when to "bring it" and when to take it easy. I rescued one a year ago, and I am consistently impressed with how she is open and friendly to most people, but watchfull, without being ferocious, with new people that come to the house (service people etc), and even has a good idea of how to scale the physicality of her play to the size of her playmates, be it dogs, cats or people. I agree completely with Mr. Hill; you should be able to find an very fine maliois who is a good pet AND a credit to the breed.
