Put a tune on your cell phone and have someone constantly call it. You can then also control the volume.

A childs toy comes to mind as far as a unique sound that would not be loud enough to offend others yet still loud enough for the dog.   Is it even allowed at competitions?

Shelley,

By all means, DITCH the idea of a panic alarm!  Can't you make do with a squeaky toy, like everyone else?

Dogs can see blue and yellow.  If you have ever been to a trial where the field is nicely grassed and they used those yellow blinds, you might have noticed dogs having trouble with the blind search--the blinds would be hard for them to see because the colors they can see are blue and yellow.  Green (grass) = blue+ yellow.    Wear a blue outfit, but try not to copy Tracy Bullingers (beautiful) cobalt blue ( you didn't think she hit on that color for no reason, did ya?).   Or, yellow.    I don't think they pick up on orange so much, even though it has yellow in it.  At least,  I don't think my dog actually notices my orange  chalk markers for corners, but he clearly has when I used blue chalk instead.    Wear a hat with streamers or ribbons, so the dog picks up on the movement of the streamers.   You may look like a fool, but...

Kenan  I agree.  Also, why not just show your own dog?  JMO

Check first to see if there are rules about electronic calling devices.  If memory serves, there was quite a lot about amplification calling devices a few years ago in Germany.
