Good Call it could be worms there could also be an obstruction or evebn a partial obstruction rexray the abdomen and if they dont see anything see in the xray if he is impacted with poop.

Also get second opinions. No matter how much we like our vets things do decieve yhem

I had a young dog do the same thing. We do not know why. I suspect it was spoiled dog food.

Dog would throw up. Eat normal but not keep anything down. Rapid weightloss. Took x-rays, big gas bubble as well. No blockage. Blood came back normal too.

The dog was starving. So my vet suggested Pred. She got 3 days of the first dosage and then I weaned her off. Made a huge difference. I ended up doing it a few days longer, dog is now back to normal.

Hope this helps.

I know this may be off subject, But when we have a Parvo dog at the clinic getting over the parvo but still sick at his stomach we will give them plain yogurt and that puts back the bacteria back in the stomach and helps them. you might want to try that.

OP is your dog on any medication?  Like Rimadyl by chance?  If so stop giving it to him now.

If not get to the vet or another vet and run every test there is..maybe you should switch to a bland chicken and rice diet.

well so far today no vomit. I gave Rem hamburger with plain yogart an mashed potatoes last night .he ate it an has kept it down. an he's been full of energy an wanting to play. I gave him more yogart today with some for natruals choice beef tube. he ate it with no prob. i went an made the stuff for the yogart an bananna an honey an peanut butter. waiting for it to freeze all the way. what was left over that wouldn't fit in the ice cube tray i just poured in his dish. he loved it an is keeping it down. i hope this isn't false hope an only lasts a few days like in the past but i will let everyone know. I've been making a list for my vet to question an have tested. i am still calling them 1st thing monday morning to let them know whats up an about things i've learned from all of you an see what she wants to do from there.y ou've all been a wonderful help an i thank each of you for all the info you've given me. got my fingers crossed he makes it another 24 hours with out vomiting..its made me so happy that he's kept food down 24 hours so far.again thank you all.

an to yellowrose of texas i no longer have beneful in my house. I to have tossed it out i'm switching to nutra if he will eat it after i get him back to noraml..I  swear i own the pickiest eater of all.

I would consider goat's milk yogurt before cow's milk yogurt as many dogs cannot digest and get diarrhea.   I would also suggest Fastrack Probiotics along with the yogurt.

Glad to hear things are looking up.

Also, after thinking about this for a while, My am bred who has this AM vommiting was also a VERy picky eater when he was young.  He too was very very skinny, but it had nothing to do with the vomitting...he just wouldn't eat.  Back then I free fed him, he wouldnt' eat so I left it there hoping he'd go to it later.  I tried everything, cooked for him, mixed in flavoring...he'd even turn his nose up at steak.  It wasnt' till I got my pup when he was about 1 year old.  She was a glutton so I couldn't free feed.  I put down his food then picked it up when she was done.  I don't know what it was but he snapped out of it and did a complete 180, now he's the one that reminds me when I'm late for dinner.

What did the complete bloodwork include?

That's too much weight loss is such a short period of time.

I would take him to a different vet and/or specialist.  Something is not right.  Do not "fart" around with your regular vet any longer.  There are so many things from EPI to Lymphoma in the intestinal tract.
