Zahnburg, you sir, are my new hero. I laughed my ass off.

Zahnburg: See what my parents bought with 4 years of private high school at 15K/year plus I forget how much in college? The ability to make vague references that few people get. It does make me feel better that at least someone got it!
Good for you!
At least Swift did not say "Let them eat cake"!
I'm always making references to literature--that generally fall flat with most people. However, "A Modest Proposal" is always on the tip of my tongue when I'm trying to cope with undisciplined, screaming brats (true, I don't care for kids) when I'm shopping in one of the "box" type stores where sound invariably reverberates.

Well, he certainly was not the the queen of France.

Nope.
Not when she makes statements to that affect. I will confess that it is becoming quite irritating to continue to read posts from people that would not know a good dog if it bit them in the ass.
If you don't know, that is fine. But shut-up and admit you don't know. Pay attention and you might learn something.
I will admit that I have learned something tonight, actually it is morning. (Shit, I have to get up and go training in a few hours). I have learned that a 12-pack and a keyboard is MUCH more fun than a 12-pack and a bug-zapper.

Zahnburg: Well, he certainly was not the the queen of France.
Maria Antonia Josepha Johanna von Habsburg-Lothringen--to be precise--The Queen of France and Navarre, The Dauphine of France, Archduchess Maria Antonia of Austria, Princess of Hungary and Bohemia, Princess of Tuscany.
Funny, when I visited the Habsburg summer palace, Schönbrunn, in Vienna, the tour guide makes no mention of her execution during the French Revolution--saying, instead, that she had been "murdered".
BTW, she probably never said "qu’ils mangent de la brioche"!

by Zahnburg on 03 February 2008 - 07:02
Probably not, but it makes for a better story. Otherwise we might have some sympathy for her.

Zahnburg, your tongue will be firmly stuck in your cheek at this rate! Love the sense of humour tho. Forgive my ignorance, but if a dog turns on the handler, isnt it ultimately the fault of the complete numbskull on the other end of the lead?
JHMO!

Now, now, zacsmum. Complete Numbskull? Isn't that a bit harsh? After all, clearly he has the concept and theory down. The fact that he was a little slow in the dexterity of safely executing the exercise doesn't exactly make him a numbskull.
Fiona <<<---- is leaving to go bandage her own fingers now because she, too, was unable to get out of her pup's way this morning.
I'm not a numbskull. I'm not! I'm not!

by Kalibeck on 03 February 2008 - 14:02
Fortunately for me, my fingers were deep in the rag, or I'd be bandaging, too. And I FEEL like a numbskull, (maybe the 20-something degree temps have something to do with the 'numb' skull, & the numb fingers that didn't release quick enough...! Anyway, the dogs had fun this am--for me?..seeking warmth, seeking warmth...bbrrrrr...jh
