Topdogs : sable is dominant to just about everything - so unless he is sable he cant carry for the gene. If he is bred to a sable...yeah...he'll throw sable pups.
And for the OP...whats the problem with sable? It's just a color.

this breeding are intend to help working line look better, but not to intend help showline have more working ability, because for sure this puppies will not succesful in their show life.

and yes, that are about as high as she can get in the show ring..if you're satified with that then, its really good for you, but for showline, and show owner, we do look for highest in sg, not just sg53 in germany. for sure she will not win, she can ofcourse get her title, but not any trophy or ribbon.

GSDsportdog: Didn't you read mine and other posts? The female, although sable, is a showline dog, not workinglines. Do you understand?
Everybody is entitled to his or her own opinion, but you are making the wrong assumptions here.

yes i'd read it, but my point is, why get such of poplar dog, doing this job?????

Gina has had multiple first places and has won trophies. You must be a newbie: SG-53 at the German Sieger Show is the best ring.
I rest my case with you. I just don't think that you understand how the show placements and the system works. Good luck with your dogs.

Who said that showlines dont work ? They bite and work equally good to working. It is better to have something to aspire to in respect to working abilities for show line and work with the dog will bring results. Sables HAVE NOT improved on anything through the years. Is this good for the breed i ask?
In Germany there are showline dogs that bite as good and they are super in conformation and stracture. These dogs do not reach VA or high V because not all breeders and working homes like to kiss Judges ars just to get the title. They do however work a lot with their dogs and one can see lots of these dogs in regional shows how well they perform.

You're talking about sables like they are another breed. It's just another one of the colors accepted by the standard. Sable does not mean working line...its just a color. There are sable showlines and working lines alike.
There are some showlines that are very serious workers...but the percentage isnt nearly what it is in the working lines. If the hgihline structure is what you like...than personally I think mixing them would be a fantastic way to improve the breed.

Nia, I had actually suggested that he was not a native English speaker but decided to erase that part again before posting. I am hoping that is all there is to it. But if not, there is no sense in arguing about it anymore. You cannot convince people who are set in their beliefs, even when presenting facts.
Cate, you are absolutely right and I have tried to say that too. But what can you do? There is nothing wrong with having color preferences, but to call the other varieties ugly is too much.
As for me, I like all colors, as long as they are strong and not fading.
