gsdlvr2,
I am a young uncompared to some of the people on this board(bob-o, patiala, molly, silbersie, ....etc). Every once in awhile i have the impulse to stick my hand in the fire(this board). Thanks for the vote of confidence though

I couldn't help but LOL at
"Not for Beginners" AKA "Not for Brittany".

orkies, we are all young among that most respected group and I think you should comment more often as you "get it" and far too many do not. Often times lately it is the blind leading the blind.

Brittany I've seen video of you handling your dogs and I must say, they are the most patient German Shepherds around. You're not exactly light on the leash and with your corrections and I'm surprised one hasn't come up the leash at you. Of course they wouldn't be alive to talk about it either so maybe one has in the past.
Yes I've been growled at and threatened but I have to say it was my own fault and I was rushing the dog before it was used to me as a handler. My Olex daughter did not take corrections lightly and you had better be sure you were right and she was wrong. There were a few times she made me stop and rethink how I was asking her to do something. That was a dog "not for beginners" IMHO
There. Now can I go back to trolling?

Not going to touch on Brittany's comment. Enough has been said and I have already given my opinion on handler aggression many times here.
Chris,
It really is nice to see people post who know what the hell they are talking about
I have been busy as hell lately and been meaning to give you a call.
How's that litter of yours doing?
by Puputz on 28 January 2008 - 00:01
Let's say we get a handler who raises a dog since it was a pup (perfect scenario, I can understand how an adult dog can bite if trained improperly before bonding has begun), and the dog is aggressive to the handler. I'd rather think about euthanizing the handler than the dog. WTF has that handler been doing that he raised the dog from puppyhood and it doesn't give a crap about him. I have a dog with a great personality, full of fire, and he's never bitten me. I could see how he might if I was stupid and didn't respect him. Naturally there are some braindead maniac dogs out there, but I'm willing to bet 95% of the time it's the handler's fault.

"Seriously, now -does anyone propose that a dog that turns and bites it's handler is exhibiting CORRECT TEMPERAMENT & NERVES - if- it was an "unfair" correction?"
Just because you have not experienced it doesnt mean it doesnt exist. "unfair" correction, again many things to many people, in the context I was using it in it refers to:
Handler says "command", dog responds but not fast enough, the handler begins to bang the crap out of the canine. Canine decides f* this and eats the handler.
"Personally, I believe that handler aggression is only "caused" by faultly handling under very extreme circumstances"
See above.
