Diego is nice and his pedigree is complementary to my girls as far as bloodlines but I feel I need a male with better hip scores in his background. My girl has many fast normals in her pedigree

What about VA3 Esko vom Dänischen Hof, he throws heads according to what I saw on the pdb. Maybe you can use his lines.

To the experienced people: Would it be easier to bring better color to the litter by going back to a well colored dog in her pedigree, or would an outcross do just as well?

Honestly, this male is the type & bloodline ideal for your female.  He stands in Georgia right now.  http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/405025.html

The good thing about a heavy linebreeding on Ursus is that she will produce well with just about any bloodline, INCLUDING a total outcross with a workingline.  The Viernheimi line crosses EXTREAMLY well with workinglines, so crossing her with a CORRECT DDR type male may produce some nice puppies.  I would recommend finding a structually correct solid black male, there are a few in the states.  Ofcourse, outcrossing workinglines and showlines will produce some structually correct puppies and some structually incorrect puppies.  This bitch will produce a large head/strong bone with any male she is bred to, so bone size should not be a factor in choosing a male.  You need to focus in a very high whithered male with very strong movement as well as a long croup with excellent position. I think the ideal line for you would be Baru Haus Yu/Natz Stiegerhof or Zamp Thermados, those lines cross extreamly well with the Ursus line.  There is also a male in Colorado, a VA-Timo v. Berrekasten son that I think would do very well with your female.  The dog is VA rated, I can't think of his name right now.  This would be a fairly similar breeding to Orbit v. Hundegarb, as Orbit goes back to Yasko(Ursus) and Timo.

Diego is a nice male, but I don't think that his type will work well with your female.  The whither is too low and the croup length and position can be spuratic within the production of the Rikkor line.

A continued linebreeding on Ursus will be problamatic in hips/heart/nerves. You do NOT want to continue with linebreeding on Ursus, with this female or any of her progeny.

Olga,
I looked at Ilay Vom Nordkristalls pedigree and yes the dog looks nice but I don't think gimme10mins is looking stud that has many HD a-fast normal in the linage. that is what gimme10mins was complaining about on the other dog.

Thanks so much for all of your help. I really like Ilay and I thought about using him for my girl. But Brittany is right Im so afraid of a lot of fast normals because my girl already has so many and Im still awaiting her hip score from the SV but it looks like she will be fast normal as well. But Ilay is a very very nice male. Wow Olga you hit my intentions right on the head. To be honest I have been looking at breeding my girl to a solid black DDR male. He is actually 3/4 DDR 1/4 Showline his lines have mostly V rated dogs and they are V in the show ring. The male I have looked at is a son of V Queick vom Ludwigseck and a grandson of Spitzen V Tino vom Schäferliesel. He is linebred 3-3 Sven vom Gräfental. I will email you privately with the actually pedigree of the male and you can tell me your thoughts. I greatly appreciate all of your help.

A georgeous bitch.  I like her front. Somewhat short and steep in croup.  Appears somewhat cowhocked in the rear. I noticed she cocked her head in the second photo.  This usually is associated with a high level of intelligence and awareness of the circumstances.  I suggest you breed her to a stud dog known to be dominant for correct croups, hips and elbows and good pigment.  If you are lucky she will turn out to be a very good producer of masculine males (what I would expect from her).

LOL Preston yes she is very intelligent. She is so smart it makes me laugh to think she is a dog. But you are right about her being cowhocked and im definately looking for a male with a good hip/elbow background and good pigment.

Some of the bitches with her type and linebreeding turn out to produce the typy very masculine and robust male stallion dogs.  That is what you should breed for as she may carry it through Ursus.  Select a stud dog which also is known for this and can compensate for your bitch's weaknesses & problems.  Remember, almost no bitch is perfect and sometimes the best producers turn out to be ones with just average phenotype.  Just try and breed her to the very best suitable stud dog you can with a proven record for producing soundness, health, clean joints, straight legs, correct croup and correct angles at both ends with correct movement.
