Sine we're talking about what a BH is...I like to call it "ButtHead"...but in reality it's really for what I call in English..."Basic Handler"...Like other posts before have said...It's an Obedience routine and Traffic Test...It's the basic Evaluation of the dog before going into the working titles...SchH1...SchH3...and...SchH3...You must obtain a BH before entering into any other form of titles...
People will say different things about the BH...But I still believe that it's the toughtest title to get....Only because it's the very first one for the dog and a lot of the times for the handler too...It is quite an accomplishment to get this title because you must work with all aspects of showing a dog in front of an audience...You must train your dog in all phases of obedience out on a field and also get your dog used to new environments...and around a lot of people...You must also fight your own nerves about showing your dog in front of a group of people...some of which are quite accomplished...also in front of a judge...probably for the first time...You must also work your dog in a traffic situation...which cars...joggers...bikes...and other distractions going on....So there's a lot to it that you must get through...So anyone obtaining a BH has done a very good job with their dog and should feel very accomplished...

Very well put Bob. I've never done a BH, since my boy had the HGH title, I went right to the 1. I kind of wished that I had, because I was extremely nervous and would have been nice to have a BH under my belt for experince sake.
