Avorow - So if I join (become a USA member)and want to get individual registry on my dog(s) do I have to send thru the mail my original AKC papers, pedigree (I hate the thought of buying one of those w/o titles etc listed)proof of OFA etc. or do most shows allow you to bring this stuff with you and document it at the show? Then you can keep your paperwork safe. I do not like the idea of sending my originals in the mail. Last summer things were getting lost alot around here.

sdchargers I would say yes because your dog will need a show rating, AD, and a schH title for a survey.

What all is involved in getting the show rating? She already has a SVV1 title, does she still need a Schutzhund title?

I am not sure, I would think the SVV1 should be recognized by USA or DVG. From what I gather to show(though not positive, still trying to find out for sure myself) the above info on registering with individual registration. Then find a conformation show that is close enough to travel to (in my case usually 400+ miles). Enter the dog. Either handle yourself or get a handler so you can double handle. They allow you to have a toy etc. and run around the perimeter of the ring calling your dog so it will pull on the lead and hopefully show off better. Then I think there is a test for gun sureness, also the judge has to see the tatoo or microchip with a reader for permanent ID, and check the teeth for full dentition/scissor bite. Can someone who has shown their dog(s) give us a step by step easy to understand ( lottsa senior moments here) run down on what needs done to show in SV conformation please?
