Q Man

by Q Man on 10 December 2007 - 18:12

The best thing that could happen to him or another team that would sign him is for the fans to boycott the team...After all the public is the ones that pay his salary in the end...Although this probably won't happen...all it takes it a little effort on the public's part to get together and not support whatever team he would sign with...I was a season ticket holder for an NBA team...and when the prices kept going up and up...I finally said enough is enough...and I quit my season tickets...It's only 1 person...but that's where it all starts...

I think any team that would sign him would have to  put up with PETA and every AR group in the country prostesting at every game. Not very good press for that team or the NFL and right now the NFL is looking for role models, not ex-cons, to represent them to the American public.

Watson, he admitted he hung at least one of the dogs and witnesses testified that he participated in the fights. He admitted that too. I think he also tested positive for pot just before he was sentenced and the judge had just had enough of him. The sentence could have been stiffer, but it's more than his coherts recived and many feel it will take him away from the NFL long enough to ruin any chances of his ever returning to the football field as anything but a water boy.

I feel Vick's punishment is appropriate for his crimes. However, I think that people who commit crimes against other human beings should be the ones getting the LONGER sentences. Like Murderers, Rapists. Why I feel this way: My 15 year old sister was kidnapped, abused in unspeakable ways and raped repeatedly (by a repeat sex offender!)She managed to escape while he was taking her to another place. Authorities suspected he would have murdered her, had she not gotten away. The "man" was only given 5 years, then was released. I love my dogs, and all animals in general, But I love people more. There are children (human babies!) here in the United States who are severely beaten, starved, mentally & sexually abused and it seems that most folks are faster to wish death on animal abusers before child abusers. Why is this? What made me want to say this, is that I see posts all over the internet about people wanting Vick to be "put in a pit and mauled to death by pit bulls." And yet when a 2 year old baby is burned with cigarettes and starved, people post "Oh poor baby. I wish I could do something to help." Yet people are faster to donate money/food to animals than to babies. I recently read somewhere that in one particular county in my area, there are 6 animal shelters and not ONE single home for abused/abandoned/neglected children. It just makes me sad. More money is given for animal rescue than human "rescue." Maybe people on here disagree with me, or hate me for feeling like I do and that's fine. I just really needed to get that off my chest. Peter, all I can say to your question is "I certainly hope not." I agree that Mike Tyson got another fight, but (I think) when one compares the two (2) sports and their core audiences, that is where the different lies. Perhaps one can have more of a "thug" image, reputation, and reality and survive as a boxer, compared to maintaining a career in football, basketball, etc.. I know that sports teams and fans have endured many embarrassments over the years. That said, I do agree with you and Q Man that we in the U.S.A. often have a very short memory. Only time will tell. Best Regards, Bob-O

Vick is still a part of the Falcons at this time, I train at a gym in Atlanta.... got it straight from the horses mouth.. the team is trying to recoup some 20 million dollars, however after all that ia all done, according to my sources (one who is an ex-pro ball player) he will be ok..... He won't change his ways, hell, the judge chastised him for only apologizing to his family and his team PETA needs to be quieted.. has anyone seen their latest 2 commercials?? Off this subject, but still a huge concern to me and should be to others as well...
