As I stated in my question, I already knew from reading the USA bylaws that I do not have to go to Regionals to go to Nationals because I do not live in the contiguous 48 states, but I could have made that point more clear in the general basis for my question. I thank you for the notification for Spring trials. The problem with going to an out of state trial in the spring, or even to the PNW Regionals which are held in the Spring, is that the snow/mud does not clear off well enough for tracking practice here in the Anchorage area until the last of May or the first of June.
Alaskans from the now disbanded Kenai Club have been to the Nationals before, several years ago, but I think they did not do so well going from the local trialing field to a National event, which is a possibility Mystere brought up in this thread, with the opinion that I should do a dry run before the Big Event (if I were to actually qualify!).
Thank you everyone for the input, and I apreciate the adult responses! It is refreshing. ~ Veronica
