4" so far, up to 6 more forecast before morning, then turning to freezing sleet. Headed out to get gas for the generator because the heavy stuff is breaking trees already.
Its early for this crap, but not THAT unusual.

We got a lot more snow overnight, and its still falling. I'm looking out the window at 10-12" here on the hill. Its very wet snow, sticking to trees, wires, breaking branches. Probably won't be long till we lose power and cable. I see a couple of huge limbs stretching wires down in a V shape along our driveway and down the street. We have a generator, thank goodness, because when we lose power out here in the sticks its usually a good long while before its restored. Dogs are in the trailer and basement for now. I'll let them into the runs later, but I'm afraid the tarps covering them, held with bungees, will fail with that much weight on them, so they won't be out long, poor dears.
Tomorrow we are forecast for 50 degrees and a bit of rain. Welcome to too much run off too fast - flooding. My temp kennels will be under water for days.
I hate PA.

These dogs photograph so perfectly in the snow, don't they? Their awesome colors really come out.
Nice looking dogs ladies.
Oh, I know most people don't care for snow but, I really miss it. I live in Virginia and we used to get enough to make me happy (I'm from Illinois originally) but lately, we cannot seem to get enough to make a nice snowball! I hope we do get quite a bit this year if only to bring up the water table. We can definitely use it. (I know Texas is probably sick to death of the rain.)
I love these pics ladies....keep 'em coming.
What beautiful dogs everyone has.

Hi Zacsmum
Yes we are in Yorkshire but funnily enough the sire of the dog I featured came from down your neck of the woods.
Just been reading the news of all the snow falls in the South West, Wales and Midlands yesterday & today , reports of up to 4 inches in Derbyshire. Luckily it has completely missed us, had lots of rain but no snow, in fact I was blissfully unaware there had been snow anywhere in the UK (south of the Scottish Highlands) until I logged on and read the online news reports approx 30 mins ago. Seems to be starting early this year, could this mean a bad winter is in store??
For your info this photo was taken approx 20 years ago and featured the first winter here in this house.

We have about a foot of snow now. Sure wish I had chained up the van last night. Downed trees are laying heavily on wires everywhere, thousands of households without electricity this morning, but so far ours haven't broken... yet. Generator's at the ready. I may not be going anywhere today, looking at the long, steep, slick driveway... which will be gutted with 12-18" deep ravines and white water strong enough to tube down with tomorrow's forecast of 50 degrees and rain.
Sigh...
You guys can HAVE the snow.
