What I read about the woman is that the worker got frightened and threw her in front of him as a shield and I understood that she went down during the process. At the same time the other worker was hitting the dog with a rake.

The articles on the links I gave, mention the radio station. The support for this dog is overwhelming.

Agar, I don't think he was titled, looks more like a family pet..... This is taken from the article above.
"...Congo’s owners, Guy and Elizabeth James, acknowledge the 18-month-old shepherd, as well as his mate Lucia and their four puppies, ..."
I do hope Congo is saved.

Todays Philly newspaper stated the Judge has ruled the dog CONGO is not to be released from the shelter where he is being held. His owners are in for a rough time living in New Jersey , where the laws are very bad along with the highest property taxes in the nation. Obviously some are getting rich over this un-fortunate incident. This is not the first time a NJ Judge has ordered a dog be put down, recently there was one in Somerdale NJ. That dog was spared when a local Prison offered to take him as a Guard dog for their facility.

All I can say is that if someone laid their hands on MY wife in our own yard, the dog would be the least of their problems.

here is something else I really don't get (from the story in the second link):
”Congo would be at home right now, and would have been since the beginning, if they had agreed to my offer, which was on the table since all along,” he said. “They are claiming that this has been hoisted upon them, but that’s not what the facts show at all.” (the prosecuting attorney)
I understand plea agreements are offered so as to avoid time consuming & expensive trials, BUT, if the prosecuting attorney felt the dog was safe enough to go home if the plea was accepted, why the hell does the dog have to be killed? What this says to me is, "you rolled the dice sucker, you lost so lets kill the dog as punishment to the owner for wasting the courts precious time". How ludicrous, ridiculous & very very sad.
