Shandra

nice reply !

I am not genius but I also sure got the feeling that the people at this kennel on the website clearly knew their way around the world of Dog Fighting. Maybe I could not see the scars clearly but that does not mean they were not there.

the only  f----d   thing  I see on that site is their association with Floyd Boudreaux' legal defence fund .

I want to apologise to Uber Land, This was way off of topic and in no way related to your post. The meds that Abhay posted were at a good price, cheapest I have seen around. I simply objected to the site since there was evidence of fighting dogs.

Greg N, Pictures speak louder than words, This is their Ch Hurricane. 'nuff said.

Shandra and Jeffrey, are you people for real?  I have been ordering my wormers from the site I posted for several years. I originally found their products on the very same Patterdale Terrier board that I found the dog food comparison chart that I also posted here. Until now I have never even gone to their home page or looked at their dogs.

Now that I do, it is obvious to me that they are indeed NOT dogfighters. To my experienced eye, I see someone who purchases Champions and then breeds the Champions in order to sell pups. In other words Peddlers. What business is that of mine?

Now I'm sure you will come back with something like, if I buy their products I am supporting them. The fact is, they sell their wormers cheaper than I can buy the same product wholesale anywhere else. I don't even see how they make a profit. Whatever profit they do make, I would venture to say that whatever they gain off my wormer purchase isn't enough to support much of anything.

I try to pass along helpful things I find along the way to fellow dog owners. You people sure do get offended easy.

Abhay, I am not easily offended. I appreciate the information and links that you pass on. I believe you possess a wealth of knowledge that we can all benefit from at some time or another.  I went to the site to look at the meds since I would like to find a more inexpensive source, It took me directly to the meds page so when I was done looking at that I clicked home to see what other things they offered, I am always looking for grooming supplies. I found the dogs listings and went from there. I did not mean to turn this into a fight or argument, I didnt believe that you could condoned what they appear to do which is why I posted about it.

I dont think buying from them supports or condones what they appear to do, their ventures support them just fine from appearances. I plan on ordering a few things from them since I am low on supplies and have spent the weekend trying to figure out who was going to be the least expensive this time.

Therese,

Until today I didn't even know they were Used Car Salesmen lol.  I see what they are doing, and I have to admit its a pretty good money making scheme.  They buy Pitbulls who have already been made Champions and Grand Champions by others. Then they breed these Champions and offer puppies for sale.

This way they stay within the limits of the law, yet benefit the monetary gains from having puppies to offer out of bonafied Champion Pitbulls.

As I've posted many times before, I take in everything. I don't get the cream of the crop. I get sick dogs, injured dogs, old dogs, etc. I feed and care for large numbers of dogs. Depending on the circumstances it can be anywhere from 30 to at one time we had over 60 dogs.

When one has to buy meds and health products for so many animals, saving a buck or two off a product is a big deal. I have to admit, until I can find it cheaper, I will still purchase my wormers from the Used Car Salesman.

by Shandra on 28 October 2007 - 19:10

I can understand that. I am always on the look out for lower priced pet related items, either for my shop or for the local SPCA, They get no funding so the only way they get meds ( wormers etc) if from donations so price is a major issue.

I must have missed the part where they buy the dogs already titled, all I saw was rows of dogs, at least 1 at some point a fighter and drew my own conclusion. I do apologise if I misinterpreted the origins and handling of the dogs. Nothing sends me into a fury more than dogfighting, cockfighting is a close second, and does at times cloud my senses.

I admire what you do, I have been there done that, at one time I had 75 dogs, all rescues. Once upon a time we had roadside dumpsters here, There was a rabies outbreak and I worked with the local vet and another rescuer to get those dogs innoculated. The ones that were people wary would get dosed chunks of meat. The ones that were approachable went home with me and I provided all of the vetting for them. I am now in a subdivision that has strict pet limits, which I didnt know when I bought my house 11 years ago. They allow 2 pets, period. heh I dont want to start counting but I know I will have to rehome some. 1 of them is a rescue tho that I am fostering so he will be going to another home, I will hate to lose him, my little goldie loves him but I have to be realistic.

I apologise to Uber Land and the rest of the board for causing such friction on an innocent post, I saw injustice and lost my head.

Therese,

I should warn you that if you order some of his wormers, it does not come in sealed containers. Many times it comes in plastic script type bottles. The first time I ordered from them 3 yrs ago, I took the wormers to my DVM and friend to have the product tested against what he had on hand.  The pyrantel and Ivomec were as represented. I have used his wormers since then.

I don't know if you are aware of the current situation regarding Pitbulls or not, but there is an epidemic of false calls being made on anyone who owns a Pit.  Since the HSUS has offered the Pre Holiday 5K reward. People have been turning in anyone they see with an APBT in hopes someting will come of the report to earn them some $$$$.

  http://www.hsus.org/acf/cruelty/publiced/hsus_rewards.html

Well bred APBT's are being offered all over boards at dirt cheap prices, if not Free of charge. Some owners just don't feel its worth it to own a Pitbull any longer.  Breeders who once found it easy to sell a pup from a Champion line, are now finding that they can't give their pups away.

The dogs we have that are purebred consist of, 8 GSD's, 6 APBT's, 2 Chihuahuas, 1 Lab and 1 Mal. The balance of our yard which far outnumber the purebreds are of the Heinz 57 bloodline.  It won't be long before the Pounds and Shelters will be filled up with unwanted Pitbulls.

UberLand:  It has been my experience that a lot of vets    yes   "vets"   give the patient the impression that the breeder did them in and you need to call the breeder and tell them they need to never breed their female again ,as it is  the female , that the pup , according to vets  , that the pup   comes in contact with..the most.....and they say it is usually the weaker puppy that will get it......bullcorn         ....

Makes me furious......only had 4 in twenty years with dermo  , a lot called it that, and I proved them wrong,,,and some being "Staph"......I repos a dog who claimed dermo and all it was    was a case of filth, feeding Ole Roy,,,and giving the 6 mos old pup , bottles of  herbs,,,echoneahea, ?   garlique, and barth and y name it,,,dog was aroungd 13 cats and 10 or more birds...has worms, and ear ,mites when I took it back.....she bought this pup at 7 weeks old and the poor immune system didnt have a chance.....she also breached a contract ..so she gave it up after a $400.00 vet bill , that wasnt even dermo....

DOg puked up on my floor the morning I took him back ,,,a reminent of carpet, buttons, threads for  tugs,   rubber,   plastic part of a dog kennel, and   ole Roy  dog food.....\Took me a month to put him back together....

The vet told her the breeder of this pup, needed to go out of business.....so Uberland......the Tennessee  mind set was probably just like the woman in Lindale , Texas....

The vet got a call from me and I told him the address where she lived and invited him to meet me there and witness the crap the pup was put into in...he declined....but my vet made a call to a orginazation he works with that has concerns of livestock or aviariay endangerament.......she got hers......birds were so full of disease and mites   ......yujk

But I was suppose to go out of business, as I was the breeder of the dog with dermadez that wasnt event dermodectic....so my SCHUTZHUND club trainer ,who is a vet tech   informed us all about the   STRESS IN A HIGH DRIVE , HIGHLY INTELLIGENT DOG WITH THE EAGERNESS TO PERFORM AND THE ANXIETY A DOG GOES THROUGH AND CHANGE IN DIET AND HOME AND WORK LEVELS CAN BRING ON AN ONSLAUGHT OF DERMODECTIC.....

My recent dermodectic   was a female out of Iska v Kapbusch and Lago v Orthskern.....if a vet was to be followed in his opinion , the Meehout better quit breeding Iska....

Abhay

great insight into that web site. I would have never looked at it the way you did. Yes, I also (after you mentioned it)  tend to believe they are operating as you suggested..not as dog fighters but probably as dog breeders for the dog fighters.

my guess is that those guys on at least a personal level are pretty connected to the dog fighting scene but that does not have anything to do with you or I or probably that website.

however, with all this publicity about dog fighting and pitbulls it is probably getting harder and harder for them to survive.

In the mean time if one can get cheap meds from them that work then there is nothing wrong with that.

Abhay, your experience and knowledge is impressive and for a so called  "know it all" you sem to "know it all".

Jeffrey
